Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life. We hear your crying and your earnest prayer, and we join with you to seek Him for lasting and true deliverance, for nothing is hidden from Him and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ.

We want to speak clearly and lovingly about these sins because God calls us to holiness. Pornography, masturbation, flirting outside of godly courtship, and all sexual sin are not small struggles, they are sexual immorality that grieves the Holy Spirit and harms your heart and mind. Jesus said in Matthew 5:28 that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, and we are commanded in 1 Corinthians 6:18 to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. We also remember 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own, for you were bought with a price, therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. Flirting with the opposite sex for pleasure or validation outside of intentional courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer is not innocent, it stirs up desires that belong only within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman.

We encourage you that your sorrow and crying out to God is precious to Him, for He desires a broken and contrite heart. 1 John 1:9 promises that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Lasting freedom will come not only by trying harder, but by the renewing of your mind and walking by the Spirit. Romans 12:2 tells us to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. We encourage you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever, just as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:29 to take radical action against what causes us to stumble. This means fleeing temptation as Joseph did in Genesis 39:12, guarding your eyes and heart, removing access to pornography completely, installing filters and accountability, memorizing Scripture to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ as in 2 Corinthians 10:5, and pursuing fellowship and accountability with mature believing men who will walk with you. Galatians 5:16 says walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh, and 2 Timothy 2:22 says flee youthful lusts, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

We join together and pray for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for the mercy You have already shown to our brother, for the improvement and the conviction of sin that You have worked by Your Holy Spirit. We ask that You would continue to have mercy on him, speak to him, and give him deep understanding and true deliverance. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him as in Psalm 51:10. Renew his mind and make him very wise in Your Word, that he may discern and reject every lie of the enemy. Help him and guide him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, to cut off every source and occasion for temptation, and to walk in purity. We pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he would hunger for righteousness and thirst for Your presence more than for the fleeting pleasures of sin. Teach him to submit himself to You and to resist the devil so that he will flee from him as in James 4:7. Guard his eyes, his thoughts, and his heart, and let him set his mind on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and of good report as in Philippians 4:8. We ask for lasting and true victory, not in his own strength but by Your power, for Your glory alone. Keep him humble, keep him dependent on Jesus, and lead him into the fullness of a life that honors You, and in Your timing, if it is Your will, prepare him for a godly marriage that honors You. We ask all this in the Name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our only access to You, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved as in Acts 4:12. Amen.

We encourage you to keep praying and crying out, keep confessing quickly when tempted, keep filling your mind daily with Scripture, and keep walking in the light with other believers. God hears you, He loves you, and He is able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before His glory. Stand firm, keep fleeing, keep pursuing Christ, and trust that He will make these sins forever far from you as you abide in Him.

We were so glad to read your update. Thank you for sharing so honestly, and for giving glory to the Lord Jesus for the improvement you have seen. We rejoice with you in that, and we hear how deeply you long for the work to go deeper and to last. It is understandable you have prayed and cried a lot about this.

Wanting it settled once and for all makes sense, and it can be discouraging when old temptations still pull. Growth in this area is often less like a single moment and more like learning to walk day by day, with God renewing the mind and shaping new habits over time. Your prayers and tears have not been wasted, He has heard them and He is already at work.

One thing that has helped many believers who have walked this road is not trying to walk it alone. Having one steady, same sex accountability partner, a pastor or mature mentor, or a small Christian support group to check in with weekly can make a real difference. It gives you someone to be honest with quickly when fantasy or flirting thoughts start, and someone to help you keep practical boundaries and turn back to Christ.

If you notice this struggle is tied to deeper loneliness, stress or past wounds, talking with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor alongside prayer can also bring helpful perspective.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already done in our friend's life and for their hunger for purity and wisdom. Show them Your mercy, renew their mind, and guide them step by step toward lasting freedom. Guard their heart, teach them to turn to You quickly, and surround them with faithful support. Keep them close to Jesus today. In Jesus' name, amen.

There is great cause to give glory and thanks unto the Lord Jesus Christ with you for the improvement already wrought, and great cause to cry still unto Him for a lasting and true deliverance to the end. We have heard your prayer and your tears, and we join our prayers with yours that the Lord will perfect that which He has begun.

You have spoken honestly concerning those sins of pornography, masturbation, flirting and sexual uncleanness which so easily beset the soul. Hear the word of truth, that lust when it has conceived brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. Any sin whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death, rest assured of that. Therefore purity must be sought with your whole heart, for charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord.

Yet take comfort, for deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ we must also expect to receive sanctification from a heavenly source. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. Deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God. He becomes possessed of a higher nature who is born again by regeneration, and is made a partaker of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain. God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom, so that it is a gift of Divine Love. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. When God Himself proclaims concerning him who is going down to the pit, I have found a ransom, then is the deliverance certain, indeed it is already accomplished. Rest your soul upon Him and God will yet come to your deliverance.

We pray for you now that the Lord will show you mercy, speak to you, and give you understanding. We pray that He will renew your mind and make you very wise, that you may abhor that which is evil and cleave to that which is good, and that these sins will be put far from you and your heart. We pray that He will help you and guide you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from your life, not in your own strength, but in His, and that you may walk in that purity which belongs to those who are Christ's, keeping the body and spirit chaste as God ordained, for sex and all its joys belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman.

If the Lord grants you this full deliverance, then you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. If we had no troubles we would have less to declare. You shall have a song of deliverance richer than that of Deborah, for you have been delivered from worse enemies and saved by a greater salvation. Let your gratitude be deeper and let your song be more jubilant, to declare the name of the Lord in Zion and His praise among His people.

Continue to look unto Jesus Christ for all things, as a familiar Friend who lives and reigns. When a child of God in deep distress believes in his Father and steadily looks to Him for deliverance, those eyes have mighty power with God. Keep looking unto Him, keep crying unto Him, and He will make your deliverance effectual and bring you forth enriched with silver and gold, with a clean heart and a right spirit, for His glory alone.

Wanting lasting change from a cycle you have already started to break takes honesty, and asking for help to hold onto that progress is a sound step. There is a spoken prayer called the Addiction Clearing Prayer on the One Prayer at a Time YouTube channel, prayed over breaking cravings and finding steadiness again, and listening is all it asks of you. I hope it gives you footing for the days ahead.
