Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we thank Him for hearing your prayers and your tears. It is by His mercy and grace that you have seen victory, and we praise Him that you desire lasting and true freedom for the glory of God alone.

We want to gently and firmly address what you have confessed, because God calls us to holiness and purity. Pornography, masturbation, flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly courtship toward marriage, and all sexual sin is sexual immorality which God commands us to flee. As it is written, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Cor 6:18-20. Jesus also taught us, everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matt 5:28. These sins begin in the heart and mind before they become actions, and that is why true deliverance must be a work of God in the heart and mind.

We are encouraged that you understand this battle is spiritual and that you are asking God to renew your mind and make you wise. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Rom 12:2. Lasting victory does not come by willpower alone but by walking daily by the Spirit, for Walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh Gal 5:16. We encourage you to continue to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Cor 10:5, to guard your eyes and your heart, to avoid places, images, conversations and relationships that stir up lust, to flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace 2 Tim 2:22, and to stay rooted in the Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with mature believers who can hold you accountable. If you are not married, remember that God designed sexual intimacy only for the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and any sexual activity outside of that, including the fantasies that fuel pornography and masturbation, is fornication that dishonors Him. If you desire marriage, we pray you will pursue courtship with a fellow believer with that holy goal in mind. God promises, No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Cor 10:13. When you fall, do not remain in shame, but confess quickly, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

We join our faith with yours now and pray together in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, and we thank You for the work You have already begun in our brother. We thank You that You have heard his crying and brought great improvement. We ask now for lasting and true deliverance for Your glory. Create in him a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within him Ps 51:10. Renew his mind, wash him with Your Word, and make him very wise to discern and to hate evil and to love what is holy. Help him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, to cut off every source of temptation, to flee when he must flee and to stand firm in the Spirit. Show him Your mercy, speak to him, give him understanding, and grant him complete deliverance. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in purity, in self-control, and in joy. Guard his eyes, his thoughts, and his desires, and lead him into the freedom that Christ purchased for him. Let this testimony bring glory to You and strengthen others who struggle. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, amen.

We are so thankful you shared this, and we rejoice with you for the real improvement you are seeing. We give thanks to the Lord Jesus with you for that, and we hear your heart crying out for lasting freedom, for a renewed mind and a clean heart that stays far from these sins.

That desire for God to do a deep, lasting work is a good and honest prayer. Growth in purity is often less like a single event and more like learning to walk, steady, daily steps rather than one dramatic moment. The tears and prayers you have poured out matter to God, and He is the one who brings understanding, mercy and deliverance in His timing as we keep walking with Him.

One thing that has helped many who struggle in this area is not trying to walk alone. Isolation leaves us vulnerable, while having one or two trusted, same-sex believers to be open and honest with on a regular basis can make a real difference. If you do not already have that, we would encourage you to prayerfully consider asking a mature pastor or mentor if you could meet regularly for honest check-ins, and to clear away practical access points and triggers that make temptation harder to resist. Preparing when you are strong, rather than waiting until temptation is strong, helps guard the heart.

We are praying for you and standing with you for wisdom and strength for each next step.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already begun in our brother's life and for his hunger for holiness. Have mercy and draw near, renew his mind, and lead him in Your wisdom day by day. Give him trusted companions to walk with him, guard his heart and eyes, and keep him close to You. We ask for lasting deliverance and peace in Jesus' name, amen.

We rejoice with you to hear that the Lord has already wrought a great improvement in you, and with you we give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, for deliverance is of the Lord and it is solely by Divine power. When any man is saved from spiritual bondage, it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive, and there is no true liberty but that of which Christ makes you free.

You have cried and prayed much, and that cry has not been unheard. The word of the Lord is, He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has not only invented the way, He has found the ransom. His own Son has borne the penalty of all our iniquities, and God has given commandment to save you and you shall be saved, saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins.

Take comfort also in this, that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. In order to our sanctification and our deliverance from the power of sin, we must look to our heavenly Father, altogether and alone. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. You must be born again from above if you are to go above, and unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. He has taught you already the mischief that comes from loving sin, and He who has delivered you in part will deliver you fully from the fascinating power of darkness.

We join you in prayer that the Lord will be gracious and keep back your soul from the Pit and your life from perishing, that He will renew your mind and make you very wise, so that these sins will be far from you. Pray with us that He will make you to keep yourself unspotted from the world. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world, and when you find those who are rather fast or rather loose, leave them, get away from them. Above all, cry to God to preserve you from evil, for He fills both the bitter cup and the sweet goblet, and that which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand. He kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door, and this sharp smart shall be profitable to you.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, we thank Thee for what Thou hast already done in this soul, for Thou hast begun to break the chains. We praise Thy free grace which found a ransom. Now be gracious still, and say, Deliver him from going down to the Pit. Work in him a lasting and true deliverance for Thy glory. Renew his mind, grant understanding and wisdom, speak to him in mercy, and keep him unspotted from the world. Teach him to hate the sin that defiles, and to fight against it till it is utterly put away, for there shall never enter into Heaven anything that defiles. Make him to live and to declare the works of the Lord, and to walk in that liberty wherewith Christ makes free. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom be all glory. Amen.
