Giving thanks with you for what the Lord has already done is the right place to begin, and all glory belongs to Jesus Christ for every step of improvement you have seen. Your honesty and your tears before God are precious to Him, and He hears those prayers. The fact that you are longing for lasting and true change for the glory of God is itself evidence of His work in your heart.
What you have described is a powerful bondage. Experience and Scripture show that pornography and sexual sin can take hold of a person much like addiction to alcohol or drugs. It draws a person, it holds him, and it tends to be progressive, always wanting more and something different and more explicit, until it brings great damage to homes, marriages and souls. It arouses passions that were meant to be kept within the bounds God set, and then it creates pressure toward further immorality. This is not a small struggle, it is a spiritual battle, and our only sufficient power against it is prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit at work in us.
God calls His people to something entirely different from the pattern of the world around us. Scripture teaches us to keep our bodies in sanctification and honor, not in lustful passion like those who do not know God. Our bodies are not our own to use for sexual immorality. If we belong to Christ, our bodies are members of Christ Himself, and we are called to glorify God with them. That is why the Bible says so plainly to flee sexual immorality. We do not stay and negotiate with it, we turn and run from it, because God has made us for purity and holiness.
There is hope for lasting deliverance, and it comes as God renews the mind. Lasting change is not only about trying harder to resist, but about being transformed by the washing of the Word and by the Spirit lifting us to a higher way of living, closer to what God intends. When the mind is filled with Scripture, when Christ is seen in His purity and holiness, we see ourselves truly and we cry out as one who needs mercy, and God gives that mercy. He can free the mind that has been ensnared, cleanse the thoughts that have been stained, and give wisdom to walk in a new way.
Continue to seek Him with the same earnestness you have shown. Bring every temptation into the light in prayer, ask the Lord to show you what must be removed and to give you strength to remove it. Fill your mind daily with the Word of God so that it washes and renews your thinking. Make no provision for the flesh, stay far from the places and pictures and conversations that inflame desire, and walk in open fellowship with trusted believers who can pray with you and keep you accountable. God delights to make the one who seeks Him wise, so that sin stays far away.
Let us pray together. Father, thank You for the work You have already done in this heart and for the desire for complete freedom. Have mercy and speak clearly, grant understanding and true deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ. Renew the mind, make wise, wash away what has defiled, and break the hold of every sexual sin. Teach Your child to keep body and heart in holiness and honor, to flee what is evil and to cling to Christ, and to live in the power of Your Spirit day by day. Set this life fully free, that it may bear witness to Your grace and bring glory to You alone. Amen.
