Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement you have seen, for it is by His grace and power that any victory over sin comes. We have heard your crying and praying and we join with you now to seek lasting and true deliverance for the glory of God, for He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:6.

We must speak plainly with you in love, as the Bible does, that pornography, masturbation, flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly courtship toward marriage, and all sexual sin are not small struggles but sin against God and against your own body. Flee sexual immorality, every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18. Everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matthew 5:28. These things grieve the Holy Spirit and defile the heart, yet we thank God that you are not hiding them but confessing them and seeking to be cleansed. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9.

The flirting and sexual lust you describe must be put far from you, for God calls us not to play with temptation but to flee it. Flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart, 2 Timothy 2:22. God designed sexual intimacy as holy and beautiful only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and outside of that marriage any sexual activity, including pornography and masturbation which feed lust, is fornication and must be repented of. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4.

We encourage you that lasting victory will not come by willpower alone but by the renewing of your mind and walking by the Spirit. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2. We must bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:5, and set our minds on whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is pure, Philippians 4:8. Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh, Galatians 5:16. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We urge you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever, as Jesus taught to cut off what causes stumbling. This means making a covenant with your eyes as Job did, Job 31:1, removing all access to pornography, guarding your phone and computer, avoiding places and conversations that lead to flirting, and bringing your struggle into the light with a mature, godly brother in Christ for accountability. Hide His word in your heart that you might not sin against Him, Psalm 119:11, and keep your way pure by living according to His word, Psalm 119:9.

We now pray together with you in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name there is salvation and deliverance, John 14:6 and Acts 4:12.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the mercy You have already shown to our dear brother, for the tears he has shed and the prayers You have heard, and for the improvement You have wrought. We ask that You would complete this work and grant lasting and true deliverance. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him, Psalm 51:10. Renew his mind, make him very wise and give him understanding, that he may discern and hate every form of lust and sexual sin and that these sins will forever be far from him. Speak to him, show him mercy, teach him to take every thought captive and to flee temptation, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he walks in purity and self-control for Your glory. Guard his eyes, his heart and his lips, keep him from flirting and from all fornication, and lead him, if it is Your will, toward a godly marriage that honors You, or to serve You in singleness with an undivided heart. Strengthen him when he is weak, lift him when he falls, and let him know that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our deliverance, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cry out to Him daily, to stay in the Word, to pray without ceasing, and to walk in the light. God hears the cries of the righteous and delivers them, Psalm 34:17. Do not grow weary, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint, Galatians 6:9. We are standing with you for complete freedom and a renewed mind that brings glory to God.

We hear how much you have poured out before the Lord in prayer and tears, and we thank you for sharing both the struggle and the progress. We rejoice with you in the improvement you are seeing and we join you in giving all the glory to Jesus for the work He has already done.

We also hear your longing for this change to be lasting and deep in your heart, not just for a moment. That very desire is a sign of God at work in you. Lasting freedom often grows as a steady walk with Him, day by day, as He renews our thinking and teaches us new ways to respond when temptation comes.

One thing that has helped many who face these same struggles is not walking alone. Isolation makes the battle harder. It can help to have one trusted, mature brother in Christ who knows your story and will walk with you consistently, someone you can be fully honest with, who will pray with you and check in regularly. With him you can plan ahead for vulnerable moments, clear away easy access to temptation, and decide beforehand how you will turn to the Lord instead.

We are praying for you and will keep praying.

Father, we thank You for the mercy You have already shown and for the improvement You have brought. Continue Your gracious work in his heart and mind, give him wisdom and strength for each day, and surround him with faithful support as he seeks to honor You. Keep drawing him close to Jesus and bring lasting deliverance in Your perfect way. In Jesus' name, amen.

We give thanks with you to the Lord Jesus Christ for the improvement you have seen, and we give Him all the glory for it. It is a mark of His grace that you hate these sins now and cry out to be made clean, and we rejoice that you have brought your sorrow and your need honestly before Him.

We have heard your weeping and your earnest prayer for lasting and true deliverance, for a renewed mind and for wisdom to walk in purity for the glory of God. Be assured that the Lord hears the cry of those who seek Him. It is of small use for those afflicted in mind to look to man alone if their distress is spiritual, for only God can deliver them, and He delights to do so. He does not share the honor of deliverance with another, but He brings His people forth Himself, and He makes that deliverance effectual.

Scripture teaches us that charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and we must keep both. We are called to keep ourselves unspotted from the world, to watch that neither riches nor poverty, neither trade nor daily company, leave a spot upon the soul. Any sin, if we cling to it and love it, when lust has conceived it brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. That is the pedigree of sin. Therefore we must not make peace with it nor make provision for it, but flee from it, as Joseph fled, and seek to be kept unspotted.

Your prayer for a renewed mind is according to the will of God. All created things need renewal, for nothing that God has made is self existent, and how much more does the soul need it if we would persevere. This work of renewal is a stern work. It is called in Scripture conversion, and the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is needed to renew a soul. You cannot by your own resolve keep these sins forever far from you, and you need not despair for that reason. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom. The prisoner ready to be executed finds undeserved deliverance because the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. The most astonishing wonder under heaven is the old, old story of the cross of Christ, that God has found a ransom and says, I have found a ransom. Sinner, do not doubt your deliverance, for God has said it.

So we will pray with you, and we urge you to walk in the means God has appointed for keeping you.

Seek the Lord daily in His Word, that your mind may be renewed and you may be made wise to discern and to hate the first approach of temptation. As it is written, wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way, by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

Flee youthful lusts and make no provision for the flesh. If pornography, flirting or any occasion to sin has a way to your eye or your hand, cut it off. Keep the covenant with your eyes, guard your heart, and avoid places, images and conversations that would spot the garment.

Walk in the light with faithful brothers or sisters in Christ to whom you can give an honest account, and come often to the Lord's table and to prayer, for there our gratitude is deepened and our song of deliverance is made more jubilant. He has delivered us from worse enemies than we knew, and saved us by a greater salvation.

Let us pray together.

O gracious Father, we thank Thee for what Thou hast already wrought in this dear soul, and we praise Thy Son our Lord Jesus Christ to whom belongs all glory. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that Thou wouldst show mercy, speak, and give understanding and full deliverance. Work in the heart, renew the mind, and make this Thy child very wise, that these sins may be put away forever and kept far off. Grant not a temporary restraint only, but a lasting and true holiness, that the life may be unspotted and kept for Thee. Teach the feet to flee temptation, the eyes to turn from beholding vanity, and the heart to love purity. Thou who hast found a ransom, apply the blood of Christ to cleanse both guilt and power of sin, and by Thy Spirit raise up what is fallen and keep what is weak. Let this affliction become a testimony, that after trouble and deliverance this life may declare the works of the Lord. We ask this for Thy glory, trusting Thy free grace alone, in the name of Jesus Christ our deliverer. Amen.
