Help! ..😭..😭I really prayed and cried a lot..

I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and we give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we join you in crying out for lasting and true deliverance for the glory of God. What you have described, pornography, masturbation, flirting with the opposite sex and sexual sins, the Bible calls sexual immorality, and we must agree with God that these things are sin against Him and against your own body. We are told to flee sexual immorality, every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18, and that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. Flirting outside of godly courtship with the intention of marriage to another Christian believer does not honor God, for it stirs up desires that belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman.

We praise God that you have prayed and wept and sought Him, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Your desire for a renewed mind and for wisdom is exactly what God calls us to, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. Lasting victory does not come by willpower alone but by walking by the Spirit, for we are told walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16, and to flee from youthful lusts, but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart 2 Timothy 2:22.

We encourage you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever, just as Jesus taught to take radical action against sin, and to make no provision for the flesh. This means guarding your eyes and your heart, removing access to pornography, putting filters and accountability in place, avoiding places and conversations that lead to flirting or temptation, and filling your mind daily with what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to bring your struggle into the light with a mature Christian brother, to stay in the Word and in prayer, and to pursue fellowship with believers who will help you pursue holiness.

We pray together now for you in the name of Jesus Christ.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we thank You for the mercy You have already shown to our brother and for the improvement You have begun. We ask You to complete the work You have started and to grant lasting and true deliverance. Create in him a clean heart, O God, renew a steadfast spirit within him Psalm 51:10, renew his mind and make him very wise so that these sins will forever be far from him. Speak to him, give him understanding, show him mercy and teach him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Help him to flee temptation, to walk by Your Spirit, and to do whatever it takes to live holy and pure before You, for Your glory alone. Strengthen him when he is weak, give him courage to confess and to be accountable, and fill his heart with a love for righteousness and a hatred for sin. We ask that You lead him, if it is Your will, toward godly marriage in Your timing, and until then to keep himself pure as You are pure. We trust Your promise that You will not allow him to be tempted beyond what he can bear and that You will provide the way of escape. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Wanting your heart and mind to be renewed, and asking God for wisdom to walk away from these sins for good, is a good and humble prayer. Lasting freedom often comes not as one moment but as a steady walk with Christ, learning new patterns day by day as we keep surrendering to Him.

One thing that helps many who have faced these same struggles is not walking alone. If you do not already have it, prayerfully consider inviting one trusted, mature Christian brother or a pastor or counselor to be a regular accountability partner, or to help you find a small confidential support group. A consistent weekly check in, honest conversation, and prayer together can strengthen you to guard your thoughts and choices when temptation comes and encourage you when you feel weak.

There is great cause to give glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ with you for the improvement already wrought, and to join our hearts with yours in crying for a lasting and true deliverance for the glory of God.

We have heard your prayer and your tears, and we do not despise them. The Lord has chastened and He has also shown mercy, and we take heart that you desire not a partial reformation but to have these sins removed forever from your life and heart. That desire itself is a work of grace.

You do well to ask for a renewed mind and for wisdom to keep these sins far from you. The Scripture warns us that when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. That is the pedigree of sin, born of lust and bringing forth death. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. Therefore purity is not optional. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord.

Yet we would have you know that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He becomes possessed of a higher nature which was born in him by regeneration and which lifts him up into familiarity with God, so that he becomes a partaker of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Your hope is not in the strength of your resolve, though resolve is needful, but in Him who has found a ransom. God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom, so that it is a gift of Divine Love. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. When God Himself proclaims concerning him who is going down to the pit, I have found a ransom, then is the deliverance certain, indeed it is already accomplished in Christ.

Therefore we look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone, and we look to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things. He is not a distant figure who lived long ago and died, but He is alive, our familiar Friend. When a child of God in deep distress believes in his Father and steadily looks to Him for deliverance, those eyes have mighty power. We also give an overcoming glance when we look to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things, trusting His blood for pardon and His Spirit for power to keep us from the cup of lust which makes the very bones to rot.

Let us pray together for you.

O Lord our God, who has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of Thy dear Son, we bless Thee for the grace already shown to this soul who confesses his sin and seeks Thy face with tears. We thank Thee that Thou hast brought him forth thus far, and we ask Thee to make his deliverance effectual in every deed. Thou alone canst bring forth and keep. Work in him a renewed mind, make him very wise in the ways of holiness, and teach him to hate the sin that once ensnared him. Show him mercy, speak to him by Thy Word and Spirit, give him understanding and full deliverance, that these sins may be forever far from him. Implant and strengthen the new nature by regeneration, that escaping the corruption that is in the world through lust, he may walk in purity as befits one called to be holy, keeping the way of marriage as Thou hast ordained, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and keeping all that belongs to it within that holy bond. Keep his eyes upon Christ, his feet from the snare, and his heart in love with Thee. Let him not trust in his own will or running, but in Thy free grace only.

We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, who is our ransom and our righteousness.

Go on to declare the works of the Lord after your affliction and after your deliverance. If we had no troubles we would have less to declare, but having tasted chastening and mercy, you shall have much to tell of His power to save and to keep. Rest your soul upon Him and God will yet come to your deliverance, and you shall say, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
