Beloved of All
We thank God with you for the improvement He has already granted, and we join you in giving all glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for it. To see progress after so much prayer and tears is a sign of His mercy at work, for He hears those who cry to Him with a contrite heart and He is able to purify and convert those who turn to Him in faith.
We also hear your longing for a lasting and true deliverance, that these sins would be forever far from your life and heart. This is a good and holy desire, and we will pray with you for it. God does not only forgive, He renews the mind and makes wise those who tremble at His word and seek Him in meekness. He can take those who were once bound by lust and make them live as angels rather than as horses mad with lust, living as a pattern of purity, temperance, faith and love.
As we pray for you, we also encourage you to walk in the practical wisdom God gives for this battle. Renewal of the mind comes day by day as you divide virtue into steps and practice them faithfully. Learn first to guard your eyes and your heart, to flee from pornography and from every occasion that stirs lust, to put away filthy talking and jesting which feed lust, and to avoid flirting which belongs only within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Fill that space with what is pure, meditate on Scripture, pray continually, fast when you are able, keep fellowship with faithful believers who will hold you accountable, and be an example in word, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Do not trust in your own strength, for pride makes a person unclean before God, but walk humbly, confessing quickly when you stumble and trusting in Christ alone for salvation and power to overcome.
Let us pray together. Father, in the Name of Jesus Christ we thank You for the work You have begun in our brother. We ask You to show him mercy, to speak to him, to give him understanding and full deliverance. Guide him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart. Renew his mind, make him very wise and keep him watchful, so that lust and impurity will remain far from him. Strengthen him to despise sin and to love purity, to live above empty glory and to be gentle and contrite before You. Establish him in lasting holiness for Your glory alone. Amen.
