Help! ..😭..😭I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and give all glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, for every tear you have shed and every prayer you have cried out has been heard by our Father. We understand your deep desire for lasting and true deliverance and we stand with you together before His throne, asking for complete freedom for the glory of God.

The Word shows us how serious these sins are and how lovingly God calls us out of them. Everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, Matthew 5:28, and we are commanded to flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18. This is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5. Pornography, masturbation, and flirting with the opposite sex are not small struggles, they are forms of fornication and lust that defile the heart and the body, which is meant to be a temple of the Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Flirting outside of godly courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer opens the door to temptation and dishonors the purity God desires for us. Sexual intimacy is holy and is reserved by God for lifelong marriage between one man and one woman, and any sexual activity outside of that covenant is sin that we must repent of and forsake.

Yet we also have great hope, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, 1 John 1:9. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it, 1 Corinthians 10:13. Lasting victory does not come by willpower alone but by being transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2, and by walking by the Spirit so that you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh, Galatians 5:16. We need a clean heart and a right spirit, as David prayed, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me, Psalm 51:10.

We encourage you to continue to be ruthless with sin, to flee from it rather than flirt with it, to guard your eyes and your heart, to set no worthless thing before your eyes, Psalm 101:3, and to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are pure, Philippians 4:8. Seek daily fellowship in the Word, in prayer, and in accountable fellowship with mature believers who can walk with you in honesty. When temptation comes, submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you, James 4:7.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the mercy You have already shown to this dear soul, for the improvement You have granted and for the broken and contrite heart that seeks You. We ask in the name of Jesus Christ that You would complete the good work You have begun. Lord, help and guide this dear one to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from life and heart. Cut off every source of temptation, give strength to flee and to say no, and cleanse every memory and desire that has been defiled. Renew the mind, Father, make this dear one very wise in Your Word, that these sins will forever be far away. Pour out Your mercy, speak clearly, grant understanding and full deliverance. Create a clean heart and renew a right spirit within, and fill this heart with love for Your holiness and for the purity You have prepared for marriage. Keep this dear one walking in the Spirit day by day, guarded, hopeful, and confident in Your forgiveness and power. We ask that You would be glorified in this life made whole and pure before You. We are so thankful you wrote and that you are giving glory to the Lord for the improvement you have seen. We hear how earnestly you have prayed and wept over this, and how deeply you want lasting freedom that honors God. That desire itself matters to Him, and we are joining you in prayer for it.

What you describe, wanting these patterns gone for good and wanting a renewed mind, is often a steady walk more than a single moment. God can bring real change, and He also teaches us to walk it out day by day as we keep turning to Him and learning new ways to respond when temptation comes.

One thing that has helped many believers in this kind of struggle is not trying to walk alone. Isolation makes it much harder to stay steady. If you do not already have this, prayerfully consider asking one trusted, mature Christian, a pastor or counselor, if he would meet with you regularly for honest encouragement and checking in. Having someone close enough to know how you are really doing and to offer feedback can be a real protection and support.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already done in our brother's life and for his hunger for You. Have mercy on him, give him wisdom and understanding, and renew his mind. Lead him to the people and steps that will help him walk in purity, and keep him close to You when he feels weak or discouraged. Strengthen him to keep choosing what honors You, one day at a time. Your cry has been heard, and it is right that you should cry much before the Lord, for you have felt the sharpness of His chastening hand and also the tenderness of His mercy. It is well to see that affliction and conviction come from God, who sits as a Refiner by the furnace. He chastens sorely, but He has not given you over unto death. That chastening is from a Father's hand, and it is meant to make the smart profitable, that you should be parted from sin and kept unspotted from the world.

Remember that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. No man can deliver himself from the pit by his own resolve. The Lord Himself must say, Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom. That ransom is His own Son, who has borne the penalty of all our iniquities. Think of this with wonder, that God Himself invented the way of escape and Himself provided the ransom, and it is a gift of Divine love. If you feel yourself going down to the pit, here is hope, for God has given commandment to save you, to save you from yourself, from the attacks of old sins and from the power of darkness.

Therefore look to your heavenly Father altogether and alone for sanctification and for power over temptation. Cry to Him daily to preserve you from evil and to renew your mind. Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness. He can make you wise with a wisdom from above, that you may see the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and that the fascinating power of sin may be broken.

Keep yourself unspotted from the world. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world, and when you find company or sights or places that make you rather loose or fast in speech and thought, leave them and get away from them. You do not need to be muddied. Turn away from that which would defile, and above all cry to God to keep you. The only hope of eternal life is by being parted from sin, and we have from day to day to fight against it till it is utterly put away from us, looking to Christ who alone can make you free indeed.

Let us pray together for you.

O Lord our God, we thank Thee for what Thou hast already done in this soul, for Thou hast kept back his soul from the pit and his life from perishing. We praise Thee for every step of deliverance, and we ask Thee to perfect that which Thou hast begun. Be gracious unto him and speak the word, Deliver him. For the sake of the ransom which Thou hast found, even the blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ, wash him thoroughly and cleanse him from his sin, and keep him by Thy power. Renew his mind, give him understanding, make him very wise to discern and to flee temptation, and work in him both to will and to do of Thy good pleasure. Show him mercy, speak to his heart, and grant him full deliverance, that he may not die but live and declare the works of the Lord.
