I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we thank Him for hearing your prayers and your tears. God sees when we cry out to Him with a broken and contrite heart and He is faithful to answer. We join you in praying for lasting and true deliverance and complete freedom for the glory of God.

We want to gently but clearly affirm what Scripture teaches about these sins. Pornography, masturbation, flirting outside of godly boundaries and all sexual sin is sexual immorality that God calls us to flee. It is not a small struggle but sin against our own bodies and against God who calls us to holiness. Jesus taught that even looking with lust is adultery in the heart in Matthew 5:28, and we are commanded to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18. For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4. We praise God that you desire to remove these sins forever and not to manage them, for God calls us to put them to death and walk in purity.

We are encouraged that you want your mind renewed and made wise, for lasting victory does not come by willpower alone but by the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind in Romans 12:2. We must bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ in 2 Corinthians 10:5 and set our minds on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely and of good report in Philippians 4:8. This means we must do whatever it takes to cut off provision for the flesh, to guard our eyes, to turn away quickly from temptation, to avoid being alone with the opposite sex in tempting settings, to remove access to pornographic material, and to seek godly accountability with mature believers who will pray with us and ask us hard questions.

We know you have prayed and cried a lot, and we want to encourage you to continue to draw near to God with confidence in His mercy. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me in Psalm 51:10. God not only forgives but He cleanses and renews. No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it in 1 Corinthians 10:13. When temptation comes, we can flee and cry out for that way of escape.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we thank You for the work You have already begun in our dear one. Thank You for hearing cries and prayers and for bringing great improvement by Your grace. We ask You to complete the work You have started and to grant lasting and true deliverance. Help our dear one to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from life and heart. Give wisdom to cut off every source and every occasion for temptation and give strength to flee when temptation comes. Renew the mind daily by Your Word and by Your Spirit, make our dear one very wise to discern the schemes of the enemy and to walk in purity and self control. Pour out Your mercy, speak clearly, give understanding and bring full deliverance. Fill the heart with love for You and for holiness so that these sins will forever be far away. Keep our dear one close to Jesus, walking by the Spirit so as not to fulfill the lust of the flesh as taught in Galatians 5:16. Let life bear fruit for Your glory and prepare the heart for a future godly marriage if it is Your will, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that honors You. We trust Your unfailing love and Your power to keep us from falling. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to stay in the Word daily, to memorize Scripture to use when tempted, to pray without ceasing, to fast as the Lord leads, and to remain in fellowship where you can be open and accountable. God is able to keep you and to present you blameless. Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you in James 4:7. Keep crying out to Him, for He hears and He will answer and He will give you the victory for His glory.

We were moved reading your honest update. Thank you for letting us rejoice with you at the improvement God has already brought, and for trusting us with the ongoing struggle that still weighs on your heart. Crying out to the Lord as you have is not wasted, He hears and He cares about your desire to walk in purity for His glory.

Lasting freedom often grows step by step more than all at once. It helps to not carry this alone. One steady next step many have found helpful is to invite one trusted, same sex pastor or mature believer to walk with you in regular, honest accountability, someone you can talk with weekly, pray with, and reach out to quickly when temptation feels strong. If your church offers a small support group for men or women pursuing purity, that kind of consistent community can also make a real difference. Pair that with simple practical boundaries around your phone and internet use and a daily habit of turning to God in prayer and His Word to renew your mind.

We are praying for you for continued mercy, wisdom and strength to turn away and walk the new path God has for you.

Father, thank You for the work You have already begun in our friend's life. We ask for Your mercy and daily guidance, renew their mind, guard their heart, and give them wise companions and courage to walk in purity. Keep them close to Jesus and steady in Your grace. In Jesus' name, amen.

I think I have prayed for you before! I am glad it is working, I struggle with pornography as well, 4/5 days not doing it actually (good for me) I am praying you will improve more and more in Jesus name, amen!

Don't lose faith that you can be changed. There are tons of gay people who have later became attracted to women only after coming to Jesus! So you can change as well.

That you see progress and yet cry out for lasting and true deliverance is itself a mark of grace, and we rejoice that you desire not a partial reformation but to be utterly put away from sin for the glory of God.

The Scripture says, Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance if God had not thought of it, yet He has invented it and He has found it. The prisoner ready to be executed receives undeserved deliverance, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. Your hope against pornography, masturbation, flirting and all sexual sin is not in the strength of your own resolve, but in that ransom. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin, and it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. Unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. You must be born again from above and look to your heavenly Father altogether and alone for sanctification as well as for pardon.

We also hear your weeping and your earnest prayer, and we put our prayer beside yours. We pray that God will be gracious unto you and give commandment to save you, to save you from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins, from the devil and from evil company. We pray that He who has begun a good work will keep back your soul from the Pit and renew your mind, that you may be made very wise with that wisdom which is from above, to hate the garment spotted by the flesh and to keep yourself unspotted from the world. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world, and when you find people getting rather loose, leave them, get away from them. Above all, cry to God to preserve you from evil, for He has taught many to say, He has delivered us from the fascinating power of sin, from the power of darkness.

He has delivered you in part, and we pray He will deliver you fully and forever. He fills both the bitter cup and the sweet goblet, and that which you receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand. Even your sorrows and your tears may be the Refiner sitting at the door of the furnace to purify you. Therefore do not despair, but fight against sin till it is utterly put away from you, knowing that there shall never enter into heaven anything that defiles.

So let us pray together that the Lord will show you mercy, speak to you, give you understanding and full deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ. May He teach you the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, so that temptation shall tempt you in vain. May He make you to live and to declare the works of the Lord, that others also may hear how the Lord looked down from the height of His sanctuary and set the prisoner free. We ask that He will grant you a watchful heart, a renewed mind, and a steadfast love of purity, that these sins may be far from you, not for a season only, but forever, by His power and for His glory.
