Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We hear your heartfelt cry and rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life. It is clear that you are deeply repentant and earnestly seeking God’s deliverance from these struggles, and that is a beautiful thing. The fact that you are turning to Jesus Christ for help and giving Him all the glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in you. Let us stand with you in prayer and encouragement, trusting in God’s power to complete the good work He has begun in you.

First, we must address the seriousness of the sins you’ve mentioned—pornography, masturbation, flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly boundaries, and other sexual sins. These are not merely "problems" but matters that grieve the heart of God, for they distort the beauty and purity of the intimacy He designed for marriage alone. The Bible is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These sins not only defile your body but also harden your heart, making it more difficult to hear God’s voice and walk in His ways.

Yet we also know that where sin abounds, grace abounds much more (Romans 5:20). Your desire for lasting change is a sign of God’s grace at work in you. The fact that you are no longer content with temporary victories but long for true transformation is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s conviction. Let us pray together for your complete deliverance:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. Lord, we thank You for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life. We praise You for the progress made and for the hunger for righteousness that You have placed in their heart. Father, we ask that You would complete what You have started. Break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of lust, and every pattern of sin that has taken root. Renew their mind by the power of Your Word and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in purity and holiness.

Lord, we ask that You would give them wisdom to recognize the triggers and temptations that lead them astray. Help them to flee from every appearance of evil and to fill their mind with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). Father, we pray that You would heal their heart from any wounds or emptiness that may have contributed to these struggles. Let them find their satisfaction and identity in Christ alone, for You are the only One who can truly fill the void in their soul.

We also ask, Lord, that You would surround them with godly accountability—believers who will walk alongside them, pray for them, and encourage them in their journey. Protect them from isolation, for it is in community that we find strength. And Father, if there is any unconfessed sin or area of their life that is not fully surrendered to You, we ask that You would bring it to light so that it may be dealt with in repentance and forgiveness.

We rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and deception that has sought to ensnare this child of God. In the name of Jesus Christ, we command these spirits to leave and never return. We declare that this one is a new creation in Christ, and the old has passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). We speak life, purity, and freedom over them, trusting in Your promise that if the Son sets them free, they will be free indeed (John 8:36).

Father, we also pray for Your mercy to cover them. We know that there may be moments of weakness, but we trust in Your faithfulness to forgive and restore when they come to You in repentance. Help them to run to You, not away from You, in those moments. Let them experience the depth of Your love and the power of Your grace, which is greater than all their sin.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this journey for Your glory. Let their testimony of deliverance be a light to others who are struggling in the same way. May their life reflect the transforming power of the Gospel, drawing others to You. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Now, let us encourage you with some practical steps and biblical truths to help you walk in lasting freedom:

1. **Surrender Fully to Christ**: True freedom begins with complete surrender. Lay every area of your life—your thoughts, desires, habits, and future—at the feet of Jesus. Ask Him to be Lord of all, not just parts of your life. *"I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me"* (Galatians 2:20).

2. **Guard Your Heart and Mind**: The battle against sexual sin is often won or lost in the mind. Be intentional about what you allow into your heart. *"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it"* (Proverbs 4:23). This means being careful about what you watch, read, listen to, and even the conversations you engage in. Replace impure thoughts with Scripture and godly meditations.

3. **Flee Temptation**: Do not flirt with sin or put yourself in situations where you know you will be tempted. Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife when she tried to seduce him (Genesis 39:12). Follow his example. If certain places, people, or activities lead you into temptation, remove them from your life. *"Flee from sexual immorality"* (1 Corinthians 6:18).

4. **Accountability**: Find a trusted, godly believer—someone of the same gender—with whom you can be honest about your struggles. Confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed (James 5:16). Accountability is not about shame but about walking in the light and finding strength in community.

5. **Renew Your Mind with Scripture**: Memorize and meditate on God’s Word daily. The Bible is a powerful weapon against temptation. When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He responded with Scripture (Matthew 4:1-11). Fill your mind with verses that speak to God’s design for purity, such as:
- *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word"* (Psalm 119:9).
- *"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God"* (Matthew 5:8).
- *"Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry"* (Colossians 3:5).

6. **Pray Without Ceasing**: Develop a habit of prayer, not just in moments of temptation but throughout your day. Prayer is your lifeline to God. *"Watch and pray, that you don’t enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak"* (Matthew 26:41).

7. **Serve Others**: One of the best ways to break free from the cycle of sin is to shift your focus outward. Serve in your church, volunteer in your community, or find ways to bless others. When you are busy serving God, you have less time to dwell on sinful desires. *"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another"* (Galatians 5:13).

8. **Embrace God’s Design for Relationships**: If you are seeking a spouse, pursue godly courtship with the goal of marriage. Flirting outside of this context is not only unwise but can lead to temptation and sin. Remember that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God for mutual love, support, and purity. *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4). If you are not yet married, commit to purity in your relationships and trust God to provide a godly spouse in His timing.

9. **Trust in God’s Timing and Process**: Lasting change rarely happens overnight. Be patient with yourself and trust that God is at work in you, even when progress feels slow. *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ"* (Philippians 1:6).

10. **Worship and Gratitude**: Cultivate a heart of worship and gratitude. The more you focus on God’s goodness and faithfulness, the less room there will be for sinful desires. *"Oh come, let’s sing to Yahweh. Let’s shout aloud to the rock of our salvation! Let’s come before his presence with thanksgiving. Let’s extol him with songs!"* (Psalm 95:1-2).

Remember, you are not alone in this battle. The Lord is with you, and He is for you. He loves you with an everlasting love and desires to see you walk in freedom and holiness. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary. *"Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up"* (Galatians 6:9).

We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that the God who began this good work in you will bring it to completion. May He fill you with His peace, strength, and joy as you walk this journey of faith. To God be all the glory!

We're right there with you, brother. We're cheering you on and praying for you every step of the way. It's amazing to see how far you've come, and we're confident that God is not done with you yet. Here's a verse that we want to leave you with today:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:1-2

Keep your eyes on Jesus, and press on, my friend. You're not alone, and you're not without hope. God is with you, and He's cheering you on too. Let's keep fighting the good fight together.
