Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! It is a testament to His grace and power that you have experienced such improvement, and we give Him all the glory. The fact that you are seeking lasting and true transformation is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s work in your heart. We stand with you in prayer, asking our Heavenly Father to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

The struggles you describe—pornography, masturbation, flirting, and other sexual sins—are not unique, but they are deeply destructive to the soul and displeasing to God. These sins distort the beauty of God’s design for intimacy, which is reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Hebrews 13:4). They also enslave the heart and mind, making it difficult to walk in the freedom Christ died to give us (John 8:36). But we serve a God who is mighty to save and who delights in setting captives free (Isaiah 61:1). Your desire to be fully delivered is already a sign of His grace at work in you.

First, we must rebuke the lies of the enemy that may still linger in your mind. The devil will try to convince you that these sins are too powerful, that you are too weak, or that you will never be free. But the Word of God declares that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided a way out—you must choose to take it every time temptation arises. This is not a one-time battle but a daily, even moment-by-moment, surrender to Christ.

We also encourage you to guard your heart and mind diligently. Jesus warned that "out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). This means that lasting victory requires more than just behavior modification—it requires a transformation of the heart. Immerse yourself in Scripture, for it is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) that cuts through the deceptions of sin. Meditate on passages that renew your mind, such as Romans 12:2: "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." Fill your mind with what is true, noble, pure, and lovely (Philippians 4:8), and the lies of temptation will lose their power.

Accountability is another critical tool in this battle. The Bible tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Seek out a trusted, mature believer—preferably someone of the same gender—with whom you can be honest about your struggles. Confess your sins to one another and pray for each other so that you may be healed (James 5:16). Shame thrives in secrecy, but the light of accountability brings freedom.

We must also address the root of these sins. Often, sexual sin is not just about physical desire but about deeper needs—loneliness, boredom, stress, or a longing for intimacy and validation. The enemy exploits these needs, offering counterfeit fulfillment through sin. But God invites you to bring these needs to Him. He is the only one who can truly satisfy the deepest longings of your heart (Psalm 107:9). Spend time in prayer and worship, not just asking for deliverance but also seeking to know Him more intimately. The more you fall in love with Christ, the less appealing the counterfeits of sin will become.

Let us pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the praise and glory for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the hunger in his heart to be fully free from the sins that have entangled him. We ask that You would complete the work You have begun, for Your Word declares that You are able to keep us from falling and to present us blameless before Your glory with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24).

Father, we ask that You would break every chain of pornography, masturbation, and sexual sin in his life. We rebuke the enemy’s lies that tell him he is weak or that these sins are too powerful. By the blood of Jesus, we declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). Lord, we ask that You would renew his mind daily through Your Word, replacing every impure thought with what is true, noble, and pure. Give him wisdom to recognize temptation and the strength to flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18).

We pray for a deep work of the Holy Spirit in his heart, that he would not just resist sin but also develop a holy hatred for it. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:10). Father, we ask that You would satisfy his soul with Your presence, so that he no longer seeks fulfillment in the empty promises of sin. Draw him closer to You, Lord, and let him find his joy and identity in Christ alone.

We also ask that You would surround him with godly accountability—believers who will walk with him, pray for him, and speak truth into his life. Protect him from isolation, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone (1 Peter 5:8). Give him the courage to be vulnerable and the humility to receive correction.

Lord, we ask that You would speak to him clearly, giving him understanding and direction for the steps he needs to take. Whether it is fasting, prayer, or practical measures to guard his heart, show him the way and give him the discipline to follow through. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that he will walk in the freedom Christ died to give him.

Above all, Father, we ask that You would be glorified in his life. Let his testimony be a light to others who are struggling, and let his victory bring honor to Your name. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear brother. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ. Do not grow weary in doing what is right, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and He will lead you into the fullness of freedom He has promised.

We're right there with you, brother, cheering you on and praying for you. We're so glad to see the progress you've made, and we're excited to join you in asking God for complete freedom and transformation.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, thanking You for the work You've already done in this dear ###'s life. Lord, we ask that You would continue to reveal Yourself to him, helping him to understand the root of these sins and how to overcome them. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to make choices that honor You.

Father, we ask that You would renew his mind, filling it with Your truth and helping him to see the lies of the enemy for what they are. Give him a hunger for Your Word and a desire to know You more intimately. Surround him with godly accountability, Lord, and protect him from isolation.

We also ask that You would give him practical steps to guard his heart and mind. Whether it's avoiding certain situations, seeking accountability, or immersing himself in Your Word, help him to be disciplined in following through.

Above all, Lord, we ask that You would be glorified in his life. Let his testimony be a light to others, and let his victory bring honor to Your name.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Keep pressing in, brother. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will lead you into the fullness of freedom He's promised. You're not alone in this. We're here for you, praying for you, and believing with you for complete freedom in Christ.
