Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony to His grace at work in you. The fact that you are seeking lasting change for God’s glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s conviction and leading. We stand with you in prayer and encouragement, knowing that our God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

The struggles you describe—pornography, masturbation, flirting outside of godly boundaries, and other sexual sins—are not merely habits or temptations but spiritual battles. These sins wage war against the soul (1 Peter 2:11) and distort the beautiful design God has for intimacy, which is reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came so that you may have life—and have it abundantly. We must take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and put to death the deeds of the flesh by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:13).

First, we want to affirm that your desire for purity is not in vain. God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). However, we must also recognize that true and lasting change requires more than willpower—it requires a complete surrender to God’s Word and His ways. Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a person does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s (1 Corinthians 6:18-20).

We must also address the root of these sins. Often, they stem from deeper issues such as loneliness, idolatry (seeking fulfillment in something other than God), or unhealed wounds. The enemy exploits these areas to keep us in bondage. But God’s Word declares, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Confession is not just about admitting wrongdoing—it is about agreeing with God about the sinfulness of sin and inviting Him to heal and restore the broken places in your heart.

We also encourage you to fill your mind and heart with God’s truth. The psalmist writes, “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to Your word. I seek You with all my heart; don’t let me wander from Your commandments. I have hidden Your word in my heart, that I might not sin against You” (Psalm 119:9-11). Memorizing Scripture, meditating on God’s promises, and saturating your mind with His Word will renew your mind (Romans 12:2) and equip you to resist temptation.

Accountability is another critical component of lasting victory. Confess your struggles to a trusted, godly brother in Christ who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you accountable (James 5:16). Isolation is the enemy’s playground, but fellowship with other believers is a safeguard. Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17).

Let us also pray for wisdom and discernment. The enemy often disguises temptation as harmless or even appealing, but God promises to give wisdom generously to those who ask (James 1:5). Ask the Lord to reveal the specific triggers or patterns that lead you into sin—whether it’s certain environments, emotions, or thought patterns—and then take practical steps to avoid or replace them with godly alternatives. For example, if you struggle with pornography, install accountability software on your devices, avoid being alone in private spaces where temptation is strongest, and fill your time with godly activities such as prayer, worship, or serving others.

We must also rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this battle is hopeless or that you are defined by your struggles. You are not your sin—you are a new creation in Christ! “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The blood of Jesus has set you free, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Corinthians 3:17). Do not let the enemy convince you that you are powerless. Greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

Now, let us come before the throne of grace with boldness, lifting you up in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already secured through the cross. We ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him. Father, we pray for lasting and true transformation—root out every remnant of sexual sin from his heart, mind, and body. Renew his mind by the power of Your Word and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in purity and holiness.

Lord, we ask that You would give him wisdom and discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and to flee from temptation. Strengthen him to resist the devil, and let him find refuge in You alone. Father, we pray that You would heal any wounds or unmet needs that the enemy has exploited to lead him into sin. Replace every lie with Your truth and fill every empty place with Your love and presence.

We pray for godly accountability in his life—raise up brothers who will walk alongside him, pray with him, and encourage him in his journey. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of addiction and bondage in his life. Set him free from the grip of pornography, masturbation, and any other sexual sin. Let him experience the fullness of life that You intended for him, free from shame and guilt.

Father, we also pray for Your mercy and grace to cover him. Speak to him in the stillness of his heart and assure him of Your love and forgiveness. Give him a hunger and thirst for righteousness, and let him find his satisfaction in You alone. May his life bring glory and honor to Your name, and may he walk in the freedom that Christ purchased for him.

We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We rebuke every spirit of lust, perversion, and addiction in the name of Jesus Christ. We command these spirits to leave him now and never return. We pray that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit and let Your peace guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we trust in Your power to deliver and transform. We believe that You are able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine. Strengthen this brother to stand firm in his faith, and let him experience the joy of walking in purity and holiness. May his testimony bring glory to Your name and draw others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue pressing into the Lord, even when the battle feels intense. The road to freedom is not always easy, but it is worth it. Remember that God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).

Finally, we urge you to guard your heart and mind diligently. Avoid any media, relationships, or environments that could lead you back into temptation. Instead, immerse yourself in God’s Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. Let your life be a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God (Romans 12:1). As you do, you will experience the abundant life that Jesus promised—a life of freedom, joy, and purpose in Him.

Dear friend,

We're standing with you in this journey, cheering you on every step of the way. It's amazing to see how far you've come, and we're so grateful for the progress you've made. Let's keep pressing on together!

We want to encourage you with a verse from Psalm 18:2, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." God is your refuge and strength, always ready to help you in times of trouble. He's got you, and He's fighting for you.

We also want to remind you of the importance of surrender. It's not just about trying harder or white-knuckling it. It's about giving every aspect of your life to God and trusting Him to work in you and through you. As it says in Philippians 2:13, "For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." Trust Him to do the work in you.

Let's also pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, thanking You for the progress we've seen in our ###'s life. We ask that You would continue to work in them, rooting out every remnant of sexual sin and filling them with Your Holy Spirit. Give them wisdom and discernment to recognize and avoid temptation. Heal any wounds or unmet needs that the enemy has exploited, and fill every empty place with Your love and presence. Help them to stand firm in their faith, and give them the strength to keep fighting the good fight. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Keep holding on, friend. You're not alone, and you're making progress. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and keep taking those steps forward. You've got this, with God's help!

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
