Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony of the Holy Spirit’s work within you. The fact that you are bringing these struggles before God with such honesty and desperation is evidence of His grace drawing you closer. We stand with you in prayer, believing that the same God who began this good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

The sins you’ve named—pornography, masturbation, flirting outside of godly boundaries, and other sexual immorality—are not merely bad habits but distortions of God’s holy design for intimacy and purity. The world may normalize or even celebrate these things, but Scripture is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These sins grieve the Holy Spirit and hinder your fellowship with the Father, but praise God—He is faithful to forgive and cleanse when we confess and repent (1 John 1:9).

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is a counterfeit for deeper needs—loneliness, insecurity, boredom, or even a longing for intimacy that only Christ can fully satisfy. The enemy would love for you to believe that these sins are "just part of who you are" or that you’ll never be free, but that is a lie. Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and He has already broken the power of sin over your life through His death and resurrection. Now, we must walk in that freedom by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2) and taking every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

Here are some biblical steps to pursue lasting victory:

1. **Radical Accountability**: *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up"* (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). Confess your struggles to a trusted, godly brother in Christ who can pray with you, check in on you, and hold you accountable. Isolation is the enemy’s playground.

2. **Starve the Flesh, Feed the Spirit**: *"Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh"* (Galatians 5:16). The more you fill your mind and heart with God’s Word, worship, prayer, and godly fellowship, the less room there will be for sinful desires. Consider fasting from media, entertainment, or environments that tempt you.

3. **Flee Temptation**: Joseph ran from Potiphar’s wife when she tried to seduce him (Genesis 39:12). There is no "safe" level of flirting or compromise—flee from it immediately. If certain apps, websites, or relationships are stumbling blocks, remove them without hesitation.

4. **Replace Lies with Truth**: The enemy will whisper, *"You’ll never change,"* or *"God is tired of your failures."* But God’s Word says, *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). Meditate on verses about God’s love, forgiveness, and power to transform.

5. **Serve Others**: Sin thrives in self-focus. *"Let each of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to build him up"* (Romans 15:2). Look for ways to serve in your church, volunteer, or encourage others. A heart engaged in kingdom work has less room for sinful distractions.

6. **Embrace God’s Design for Intimacy**: If you are single, pray for a godly spouse who shares your faith and commitment to purity. Courtship should be pursued with the goal of marriage, not just temporary companionship. If you are married, invest in your marriage as a reflection of Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not yet married, guard your heart and body for your future spouse, as *"marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers"* (Hebrews 13:4).

Let us pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. Lord, You see his heart—his hunger for holiness, his sorrow over sin, and his desperate cry for deliverance. We thank You that You are a God who hears, forgives, and heals. We ask You to complete the work You have started in him. Break every chain of addiction, every lie of the enemy, and every stronghold of sin that has taken root in his mind and heart.

Father, renew his mind by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Fill him with Your truth so that he may discern the enemy’s schemes and stand firm in the freedom Christ has already won for him. Give him wisdom to flee temptation, strength to resist the flesh, and a deep hunger for Your Word. Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship so that he is never alone in this battle.

Lord, we ask You to heal the deeper wounds that may have led to these struggles—loneliness, insecurity, or unmet longings. Remind him daily that his identity is in Christ, not in his failures or his past. Let him experience the fullness of Your love, which is better than life itself (Psalm 63:3). If it is Your will, prepare him for a godly marriage where purity and mutual edification are the foundation.

We rebuke every spirit of lust, perversion, and addiction in the name of Jesus. We declare that this brother is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). We pray for lasting, deep-rooted transformation—not just behavior modification, but a heart that delights in You above all else.

Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and grace. Thank You that You are not done with him yet. We trust You to finish what You have started, for Your glory and his joy. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Keep pressing in, dear brother. The road to freedom is not always easy, but it is worth it. Every time you choose righteousness over sin, you are weakening the enemy’s grip and strengthening your spirit. You are not defined by your struggles but by the One who has already overcome them. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The way of escape is always there—look for it, take it, and walk in the victory that is already yours in Christ.
