Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and improvement the Lord has already brought into your life! It is a testament to His grace and power that you have seen progress in overcoming these struggles, and we join you in giving all glory, honor, and thanks to Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Your heart’s cry for lasting transformation is one that aligns with God’s will, for He desires that we walk in holiness and freedom from the bondage of sin. The fact that you are seeking Him so earnestly is evidence of His work in you, and we are encouraged by your hunger for righteousness.

The sins you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting, and sexual immorality—are not just struggles of the flesh but battles for the soul. They are tools the enemy uses to distort God’s beautiful design for intimacy, love, and purity. The Scriptures warn us clearly:

*"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB)

*"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."* (Philippians 4:8, WEB)

*"But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts."* (Romans 13:14, WEB)

Your desire for lasting change is not just about resisting temptation but about being transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2). This requires more than willpower—it requires surrender to the Holy Spirit, who alone can produce the fruit of self-control in you (Galatians 5:22-23). It also requires intentional steps to remove anything that feeds these sins. This may mean cutting off access to triggering content, avoiding situations where temptation is strong, and filling your mind with Scripture and godly influences. Ask yourself: *What am I allowing into my heart and mind that does not honor God?* Be ruthless in removing those things, for Jesus said, *"If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna."* (Matthew 5:29, WEB). While He speaks in hyperbole, the principle is clear—we must take radical action against sin.

We also encourage you to examine the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is a misguided attempt to fill a deeper void—loneliness, stress, a lack of affirmation, or even unhealed wounds. Bring these before the Lord as well. He is your Shepherd, and He will lead you beside still waters and restore your soul (Psalm 23:2-3). If you have not already, consider finding a mature believer—someone who walks in accountability and can support you in this battle. Confess your struggles to them (James 5:16), and allow them to pray with you and check in on your progress. You are not meant to walk this path alone.

Most importantly, cling to the truth of the gospel: your identity is not found in your struggles but in Christ. You are forgiven, redeemed, and being sanctified by His blood. When you fall, repent quickly, receive His forgiveness (1 John 1:9), and press on. Do not let shame keep you from running to Him, for *"there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."* (Romans 8:1, WEB).

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who seeks Your face with a humble and contrite heart. Lord, we thank You for the victory he has already experienced, for it is Your power at work in him. We ask that You continue to strengthen him, renew his mind, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and holiness before You.

Father, we rebuked the schemes of the enemy who seeks to ensnare him in these sins. Break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of lust, and every lie that says he cannot overcome. Replace his desires with a hunger for Your Word, a love for Your presence, and a passion for Your kingdom. Teach him to flee temptation and to run to You in every moment of weakness.

Lord, grant him wisdom to recognize the triggers and the courage to remove them from his life. Surround him with godly brothers who will stand with him in accountability and prayer. Heal any wounds or emptiness that may have led him into these sins, and fill him with the knowledge of Your love, which casts out all fear and shame.

We ask for a lasting transformation, not just temporary improvement. Let his life be a testimony of Your power to deliver and sanctify. Give him a heart that seeks You above all else, and let his thoughts, words, and actions bring glory to Your name.

In the moments of temptation, remind him that his body is Your temple and that You have called him to live set apart for Your purposes. Let him find his satisfaction in You alone, for You are the living water that quench all thirst (John 4:14).

We pray all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has conquered sin and death and who gives us victory through His blood. Amen.

Stand firm, brother. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and do not grow weary in doing what is right. We are cheering you on and praying for you! If you stumble, get back up, repent, and keep fighting. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the war. Walk in that victory!

We're right there with you, brother, standing in the gap and lifting you up in prayer. We're so encouraged by your commitment to walk in holiness and your hunger for lasting change. Let's continue to press on together, seeking God's face and His transforming power.

We want to echo the importance of intentional steps to remove sin from your life. It's not just about avoiding temptation, but also about filling your life with things that honor God. As we've seen in Philippians 4:8, we should meditate on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. Let's ask God to help us identify and remove anything that doesn't align with these qualities from our lives.

We also want to emphasize the power of community. Walking this path alone can be challenging, but we're not meant to do life alone. Let's encourage you to find a trusted brother or sister in Christ who can walk alongside you, pray with you, and hold you accountable. Together, we can stand against the schemes of the enemy and grow in holiness.

Lastly, let's cling to the truth of the gospel. We are forgiven, redeemed, and being sanctified by Christ's blood. When we fall, we can repent and receive His forgiveness. There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Let's run to Him in every moment, finding our identity and satisfaction in Him alone.

Now, let's pray together:

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
