Help, I have a bad wish upon me

The weight you are feeling right now is very real, and I want you to know that I have prayed over these words before writing them. You are not forgotten, and you are not beyond help.

When someone speaks a curse over you or prays that Jesus would send you to hell, it can feel like a dark cloud hanging over every step. It stirs fear and confusion, and the enemy uses that fear as a weapon. Fear and faith cannot live together in the same heart. Where fear is allowed to settle in, faith begins to shrivel. That is exactly what the enemy wants: to get your eyes on the threat so you forget the Lord who is greater than every threat. The cure for fear is always, always to remember the Lord. You may feel like you are walking through a valley of deep shadow right now, but the Shepherd has not left you. Greater is He who is in you than any power that stands against you.

The sin that has crept into your thoughts, even blasphemous impulses that leave you sick afterward, is part of the destruction these spiritual attacks are designed to produce. Sin is always destructive; it ravages the spirit, the mind, and the body. But there is a distinction between the sin that flows from a hardened heart and the sin that comes from being battered by demonic oppression. You said you do not love the sin, that you realize its horror afterward. That alone signals the Spirit is still at work within you, bringing conviction, not abandonment. The only sin that sends a person to hell is the settled, final rejection of Jesus Christ. Not a storm of unwanted thoughts, not a moment of bad words spoken in anguish. The blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is not a careless phrase; it is a lifelong refusal of His testimony about Jesus. That is not what is happening here. You are reaching for help, not turning away.

Now, about those curses spoken over you. There is an ancient story of a king who hired a man to curse God's people, and every time the man opened his mouth to utter a curse, blessing came out instead. God declared, “I will not curse them; they are My people.” A curse that God does not authorize cannot land on His child without a cause. Christ has already carried the curse that mattered most. When Adam sinned, the curse fell on man and woman and the earth itself: thorns, labor, pain. But Jesus took that curse in full. He wore the crown of thorns, the very emblem of the ground cursed for our sake. He became a curse for us as He hung on the tree, so that whoever belongs to Him is redeemed from the curse of the law. Every human curse spoken against you has been defanged by the cross. The blood of Jesus does not merely cover sin like the old sacrifices; it puts sin away entirely. It silences every accusation hell can hurl.

You mentioned that these things began when someone wished you to go to hell and even asked Jesus to send you there. That person was trying to aim a weapon, but the weapon cannot fire unless the Lord permits. The enemy tries to use such moments to fill you with dread, just as adversaries in another time tried to strike fear into a builder so he would stop his work. But the builder prayed, “Remember them, Lord, for they have provoked You,” and then he said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Remember the Lord.” That is your stronghold right now: remember the Lord, not the curse. Fear God, who holds your eternity, and do not be terrified of those who can only threaten the body and the mind.

The blasphemous thoughts that arise and then leave you horrified are like the serpents that bit the people in the wilderness: venomous, not chosen, but still needing a remedy. The remedy was a bronze serpent lifted high. That was a picture of Jesus lifted up on the cross, bearing the judgment for sin. Look there. When those thoughts come, do not try to argue with them in your own strength. Fix your gaze on Jesus, who became sin for you so you could become the righteousness of God in Him. Confess the sin you are aware of, and trust that His blood cleanses you from all unrighteousness.

Finally, do not let the weariness of this battle convince you to give up. The schemes of darkness are real, and spiritual forces do operate in the world, sometimes influencing people to think and act in ways that can only be explained by demonic control. But that same power is a defeated foe. Jesus descended into death and rose, and He holds the keys. He will not cast you into hell because someone asked Him to. He invites you to come boldly to the throne of grace, to find mercy and help in this time of need. The fear that has been knocking at your door is a liar; faith in Christ is the door that shuts it out.

Stand in the finished work of Jesus. The curse has been replaced by blessing. You are not what they said over you. You are what Christ has done for you. Let that truth be louder than every other voice.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your heavy heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer during this deeply troubling time. It grieves us to hear of the curses and harsh words that have been spoken against you, and we have been lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to break every ungodly tie and cancel every word that does not align with His will for your life. We pray that the power of those curses would be rendered null and void in the mighty name of Jesus, and that your heart would be filled with the peace and assurance of His love and protection.

We have been asking the Lord to surround you with His holy angels, to guard your mind and spirit from every attack of the enemy, and to restore the joy of your salvation. We believe that God’s grace is greater than any curse, and His mercy triumphs over judgment. We continue to pray for your deliverance from any spiritual oppression, that you would walk in the freedom and righteousness that Christ has already secured for you.

If the Lord has moved in a powerful way since you shared this request—if you’ve experienced His peace, His healing, or a breaking of these chains—we would love to hear a praise report so that we can rejoice with you. If, however, you are still feeling weighed down or under attack, please do not hesitate to post this as a new request. We are committed to standing with you in prayer until you see the victory that is already yours in Christ.

May the Lord continue to draw you closer to Himself, filling you with His Holy Spirit and renewing your mind with His truth. May you feel His presence in a tangible way, reminding you that you are deeply loved, fiercely protected, and called according to His purpose. We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
