I prayed for this. In Jesus Name. Amen. * JEREMY / marinecorpboy - Aren't -you- the one who was so "Gung Ho!" for the Corp - who was THIS close to going off to Boot Camp??! I hope I'm not "rubbing -salt-" in an open sore/wound, here - but -what- happened, =then=?/!

I am going into the Marine Corps but I figured that it was best to go to College, get my bachelors degree and go into the Marine Corps as an Officer. I like the idea of becoming an commissioned officer because I will be able to lead the few! Right now I just want to enjoy myself at College, play sports, enjoy life, etc before I make that commitment to the Corps. I'm very happy that I didn't take that final step to enlist because I never liked starting from the bottom so now once I meet with an OSO, I can work with him to when I can go to OCS (Officer Candidate School) and so on. The only problem is where bootcamp for the enlisted is 13 weeks, men who are becoming officers go through 26 weeks of hell instead of 13. It's definitely worth it in the end to be able to earn such an accomplishment!
