Hello friends, I am requesting a prayer to get my ex back after a long time.

Hello everyone, I am requesting a prayer request to get my ex back after my bad actions towards her. I have lost my temper, lusted, and sinned across the year and a half we were together. I may only be ### years old, and I didn't realize what I would miss until I lost it. I request that you keep her safe, and away from substance and danger in our time apart, and that God bring us back together soon after I have already ruined a second chance that I had gotten. I thank you all, in Jesus' name, amen.

We hear your heart and the deep regret you carry for the ways you failed in your relationship. It is clear you recognize the gravity of your actions—losing your temper, lusting, and sinning against her—and we acknowledge your desire for restoration. However, we must first address the foundation of your request with truth and love, rooted in Scripture.

Your prayer mentions Jesus’ name, and we are grateful for that, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Salvation comes through faith in Christ alone, and it is His sacrifice that covers our sins when we repent (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9). If you have not already, we encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord, confessing your sins and surrendering fully to Him. True change begins with a transformed heart, and only God can bring that about (Ezekiel 36:26).

Now, regarding your request for reconciliation, we must carefully consider God’s design for relationships. The Bible calls us to pursue holiness and to treat others with love, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). Your past actions—losing your temper and lusting—are not in alignment with God’s will, and they caused harm. While it is natural to long for a second chance, we must ask: Have you truly repented, not just for the loss of the relationship, but for the sin itself? Repentance means turning away from sin and walking in obedience to God (1 John 1:9). Have you sought His forgiveness and hers, if possible, with humility and a commitment to change?

The Bible warns against the dangers of lust and anger, which can destroy relationships and defile the heart (Matthew 5:28, James 1:20). If you are serious about pursuing this woman again, it must be with the intention of honoring God in your relationship. That means courting her with purity, respect, and a commitment to marriage, not merely rekindling a past romance. Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not prepared to pursue her with that level of commitment, it may be wiser to seek God’s healing and growth apart from her.

We also urge you to consider whether reconciliation is truly God’s will. Sometimes, the Lord allows relationships to end so that we can grow and learn from our mistakes. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not on our own understanding. Have you sought His wisdom in this matter, or are you driven by emotion and longing? Restoration is possible, but it must be on God’s terms, not ours.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this young man who is burdened by his past mistakes. Lord, we thank You for his honesty and his desire to make things right. We ask that You would first draw him closer to You, that he may know the depth of Your love and the power of Your forgiveness. Help him to repent fully of his sins—his anger, his lust, and any other ways he has fallen short—and to walk in the newness of life that You offer (Romans 6:4).

Father, we pray for the young woman he mentions. Protect her from harm, from substance abuse, and from any danger she may face. Surround her with Your peace and Your people, and let her feel Your presence in this season of separation. If it is Your will for them to be reconciled, prepare both of their hearts for that possibility. Give this young man the strength to pursue her with purity, patience, and a commitment to honor You in their relationship. If it is not Your will, Lord, grant him the grace to accept that and to trust in Your greater plan for his life.

We rebuke the enemy’s lies that tell him he is unworthy of love or forgiveness. Remind him that in Christ, he is a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may bear the fruit of self-control, kindness, and love in all his relationships. Help him to seek Your face above all else, and to find his identity and purpose in You alone.

Lord, we ask for wisdom for both of them. If reconciliation is to happen, let it be for Your glory and in accordance with Your Word. If not, grant them both the strength to move forward in faith, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to focus on your relationship with God. Spend time in His Word, seeking His will for your life. Surround yourself with godly mentors who can hold you accountable and encourage you in your walk with Christ. If you have not already, consider confessing your sins to a trusted pastor or spiritual leader who can guide you in repentance and growth.

Remember, God’s timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). Whether or not this relationship is restored, your ultimate purpose is to glorify Him. Trust in His faithfulness, and let Him heal your heart in this season.

We're here for you, friend. We understand the weight of regret you're carrying, and we're praying for you. We've been where you are, feeling the pain of lost love and the burden of past mistakes. But remember, God is a God of second chances, and He's always ready to forgive and restore.

We're praying that God will give you the strength to truly repent, not just for the loss of the relationship, but for the sin itself. We're asking Him to help you turn away from anger and lust, and to walk in obedience to Him. We're also praying for the young woman you mentioned, that God will protect her and surround her with His peace.

But let's not forget, friend, that God's will is supreme. Sometimes, He allows relationships to end so we can grow and learn from our mistakes. We're asking God for wisdom in this matter, that you may seek His will above all else.

In the meantime, focus on your relationship with God. Spend time in His Word, seeking His will for your life. Surround yourself with godly mentors who can hold you accountable and encourage you in your walk with Christ.

Remember, God's timing is perfect, and His plans for you are good. Whether or not this relationship is restored, your ultimate purpose is to glorify Him. Trust in His faithfulness, and let Him heal your heart in this season.

We're believing with you for restoration, but we're also trusting that God's will is best, even if it's not what we want. Let's leave the outcome in His capable hands.

Thank you for praying for me, she is not a believer in Christ, but I wish that he find his way into her heart eventually, the same he did for me eventually, as I was once not a believer the same as her.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.
