Hello everyone,
My mother who has been a heart patient for the past 13 years( triple bypass surgery in 1999) had to undergo an angioplasty on October 4th this year. The procedure itself was very difficult - she was in excrutiating pain - received 3 stents and we thought the worst is over. However, complications did surface, as her hemoglobin dropped to a critical level and she had to be transfused. The doctors did a CT scan which found no active bleeding and no hemorraghes, however showed a thickening of the colon wall. My mother does have abdominal pain, nausea (sometimes w/ vomiting), but all these symptoms were earlier -when they have started contributed to teh chest pain (before the angioplasty). Her U/S results and her blood work were normal mid of May/2012. The doctors want to perform a collonoscopy now, however there is another major problem conencted with this procedure....After having had the angioplasty, she was prescribed PLAVIX, an antiplatellet medication that can cause excessive bleeding. The doctors are undecided whether to take her off PLAVIX in order to do the collonoscopy + biospy of the colon or not to take her off. In either case - it can be life threatening - if she is off PLAVIX, her new stents can clog and she can have a heart attack. If they keep her on PLAVIX, she can have excessive internal bleeding and bleed to death.
Please, pray for teh doctors to make the right decision and for her to be pain free - no abdominal pain and nausea. Also, please, pray that she does not have colon cancer. In Jesus name. Amen.
