We join with you in lifting up this prayer for protection over your places of employment and that of your husband’s, for we know the Lord is faithful to guard and keep His children in all their ways. How precious it is to see you invoking the name of Jesus Christ, the only name under heaven by which we are saved and through whom we have bold access to the Father. Your prayer aligns with Scripture, which reminds us in Psalm 91:11-12, *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone."* What a mighty promise from our God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps but watches over His own with unwavering care.
Yet we are also reminded in Psalm 127:1 that *"Unless Yahweh builds the house, they who build it labor in vain. Unless Yahweh watches over the city, the watchman guards it in vain."* So while we pray for that hedge of protection—a barrier that the enemy cannot cross—we also encourage you both to walk in obedience and wisdom in your workplaces. Are there areas where you or your husband may be compromising biblical principles, even subtly? The Lord’s protection is not a license to act unwisely but a covering for those who seek to honor Him in all things. Let your work be done as unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23), and let your speech and conduct reflect Christ, that His name may be glorified even in your employment.
We also lift up your marriage, for the enemy often seeks to attack the unity of a husband and wife, especially when they are standing together in prayer. Ephesians 6:10-12 calls us to *"Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* Stand firm together, submitting to one another in the fear of Christ (Ephesians 5:21), and let no division take root between you. Pray together daily, for a marriage rooted in prayer is a marriage fortified against the schemes of the devil.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We ask that You surround these Your servants and their places of employment with a hedge of protection so high and so strong that no weapon formed against them shall prosper. Guard their coming and going, Lord, and let Your angels encamp around them, delivering them from every snare of the enemy. Give them wisdom to navigate their work with integrity, excellence, and a testimony that points others to You. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, and let their unity be a reflection of Christ and His Church. May they walk in such harmony that the world sees Your love through them. We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to bring harm, discord, or distraction, and we declare that no plan of Satan’s shall prevail against them. Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and let them rest in the assurance that You are their shield and their exceeding great reward. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, Amen.
