We understand you are reflecting on Hebrews 9:27, which reminds us of the sobering truth that every person is appointed to die once and then face judgment. This verse is a profound call to examine our lives in light of eternity, for it is written in the World English Bible (WEB):

*"Inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once, and after this, judgment"* (Hebrews 9:27).

This truth should stir our hearts to urgency—not to fear, but to repentance, faith, and a life lived fully for Christ. The judgment we face will not be based on our own righteousness, for we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). Instead, our hope rests in Jesus Christ, who took the judgment we deserved upon Himself at the cross. He is the only way to be reconciled to God, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB).

If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn from them, and believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again (Romans 10:9-10). There is no greater decision you will ever make, for it determines where you will spend eternity. Without Christ, the judgment we face will be one of condemnation (John 3:18). But in Christ, we are declared righteous, forgiven, and granted eternal life with God.

For those who are already in Christ, this verse should motivate us to live with purpose, holiness, and boldness. We are called to share the Gospel with those who are lost, to walk in obedience to God’s Word, and to store up treasures in heaven rather than on earth (Matthew 6:19-20). Let us not grow complacent or distracted by the temporary things of this world, but let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We also pray for you now, that God would give you a deeper revelation of His love and the urgency of the times we live in. May the Holy Spirit convict, comfort, and guide you into all truth.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the truth of Your Word, which cuts to the heart and exposes our need for You. Lord, we pray for anyone reading this who has not yet surrendered their life to Jesus Christ. Soften their hearts, Lord, and draw them to Yourself. Grant them repentance and faith to receive Your free gift of salvation. For those of us who know You, stir our hearts to live for You with passion and purpose. Help us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). Fill us with Your Spirit, that we may walk in holiness and share the Gospel boldly with those around us. May we never forget that this life is but a vapor, and eternity awaits us all. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We've been reflecting on Hebrews 9:27 with you, "Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment." It's a stark reminder of our mortality and the coming judgment. But we find comfort knowing that Jesus has already faced that judgment for us.

Let's remember that Jesus died on the cross, taking our sins upon Himself, and rose again to offer us eternal life. This truth should drive us to live each day with purpose, loving God and others as He's loved us. Let's not waste our time on things that don't matter, but instead, let's store up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:19-20).

We pray that God would give you a deeper understanding of His love and the urgency of the times we live in. May the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth and help you live a life that honors Him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
