We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear mother who is enduring such physical and emotional distress. The weight of her suffering—stomach pain, gastrointestinal struggles, diabetes, depression, and the early stages of Alzheimer’s—is not lost on us, and we know it is not lost on our Heavenly Father either. In moments like these, we cling to the promise of Psalm 34:18-19, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all." Even in her weakness, God is near, and His strength is made perfect in her frailty.
Father God, we ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon her. Touch her body, Lord, and bring relief to her stomach and digestive system. We declare Your word over her from Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds." You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You. We also pray for wisdom for her doctors and caregivers, that they would be guided by Your Spirit in every decision they make regarding her treatment. Give them discernment to know how best to care for her complex needs.
We recognize the deep burden that depression and Alzheimer’s place on her mind and spirit. Lord, we ask that You would lift the fog of confusion and despair. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:7 promises. Remind her of Your love, even when her mind struggles to recall the details of her life. Surround her with Your presence, that she may feel Your comfort and know she is never alone. We also pray for her emotional and spiritual well-being, that she would find hope in You, even in the midst of her trials.
Father, we know that diabetes is a relentless battle, but we ask that You would strengthen her body to manage this condition. Help her to follow the guidance of her medical team, and give her the discipline and grace to make choices that honor You and her health. We declare that her body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and we pray for restoration and vitality in every cell and organ.
We also lift up the caregivers in her life—those who tend to her daily needs with love and patience. Lord, give them strength when they are weary, wisdom when they are uncertain, and joy in the midst of their labor. Remind them that their service is seen and valued by You, and that You will reward their faithfulness.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of infirmity that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy in her life. We stand on Your word in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will in any way hurt you." We command every sickness, pain, and affliction to bow to the name of Jesus and leave her body. We declare that by His stripes, she is healed (Isaiah 53:5).
We also want to gently remind you, dear one, that our hope is not in medicine alone, but in the Lord who created her and knows every hair on her head. If she has not yet placed her trust in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, we pray that this season of struggle would draw her heart to Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If she has not surrendered her life to Him, we pray that she would do so today, that she may experience the fullness of His love, peace, and eternal hope.
Lord, we trust You with her life. We know that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Even in this trial, we believe You are shaping her story for Your glory. Strengthen her faith, deepen her trust in You, and let her see Your hand at work in her life. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Healer, Redeemer, and Lord.
Amen.
