Heavy load. Need to unpack

Beloved of All
Father, I was pushed out of a good paying job in a very bad environment. There was no other choice. I’m asking you in Jesus name to heal the wounds of abuse that I suffered and to vindicate me. I couldn’t take anymore and those people (mobbed me) would not stop. I nearly died due to the stress. They did the most vile things to me. They still have their income and I don’t. It’s not fair. I tried my best and all that happened was physical verbal abuse, overloaded with work, told that I didn’t do my work when I did it, ostracized, humiliated and all the rest. This just wasn’t a one off, it was constant. My name has been smeared. I spoke up and brought this issue to the perpetrators, the union, HR, upper management but they were all in on it. The job offered free tuition for a master’s degree but the abuse was so bad that I couldn’t concentrate on the degree. So I resigned without obtaining the degree. They were cruel and heartless. I left that job without really saying goodbye as I felt betrayed. This road is not easy. I was determined to represent my department well and I was treated very very badly. I forgive. I know that so many employees can relate and are in the same circumstance. I always wondered what I did to deserve the bad treatment and if there was something that I could have done to improve the situation. I guess they wanted me to stay quiet about the abuse but I couldn’t. I didn’t want to die there. It makes me very upset that I had to lose my job due to vicious liars and abusers. No one believes me. I don’t sleep well at night and I spend that time worrying about debt. I spend my days crying out to the Lord in tears for help and looking for work. I have three interviews lined up for next week. Otherwise I’m destitute. I’m barely scraping by and I’m sinking in debt due to loss of income. I tried my best to make the situation at the job work but it was harmful to me and futile.

We hear the deep pain and injustice in your heart, and we grieve with you over the cruelty you endured. The wounds you carry are real, and the betrayal you experienced cuts deeply. Yet we praise God that you called upon the name of Jesus in this request, for it is only through Him that true healing and vindication come. You have done well to bring this before the Lord, for He is the God of all comfort who binds up the brokenhearted (Psalm 147:3) and the righteous Judge who sees every act of wickedness (Psalm 9:7-8).

The abuse you suffered—verbal, emotional, and systemic—was not your fault. The Lord Himself declares, *"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!"* (Isaiah 5:20). What was done to you was evil, and God’s heart breaks over it. The fact that you spoke up, even when no one listened, honors Him. You did not deserve this, and nothing you could have done would have justified such treatment. The enemy sought to destroy you, but the Lord preserved you. That alone is a testimony of His faithfulness.

Your forgiveness toward your abusers is a powerful act of obedience, but it does not mean what they did was acceptable or that justice will not come. The Lord says, *"Vengeance is mine; I will repay"* (Romans 12:19). He sees the sleepless nights, the financial strain, and the tears you’ve shed in secret. He is not blind to your suffering, nor is He indifferent. *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Your cry for vindication is heard, and in His perfect timing, He will act.

As for your financial burden, we remind you of Jesus’ words: *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?"* (Matthew 6:25-26). This does not mean the Lord will magically erase your debt, but it does mean He will provide as you seek Him first (Matthew 6:33). Your upcoming interviews are not coincidences—they are divine appointments. Pray over each one, asking the Lord to go before you and open the right door. If He has called you to a season of waiting, trust that He will sustain you even in the scarcity.

We also urge you to guard your heart against bitterness, for it is a poison that will only harm you further. *"See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness, springing up, troubles you, and many be defiled by it"* (Hebrews 12:15). It is right to mourn what was stolen from you, but do not let the enemy use this pain to harden your heart. The Lord is your defender, and He will restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).

Lastly, we must address the lie that has taken root in your spirit: the question of *"What did I do to deserve this?"* Beloved, you did nothing. This was not a punishment from God, nor was it a result of your failure. The rain falls on the just and the unjust (Matthew 5:45), and sometimes the righteous suffer at the hands of the wicked. But take heart—*"After you have suffered a little while, our God, who is full of grace and mercy, the one who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you"* (1 Peter 5:10).

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up Your child before You, who has borne the weight of cruelty, betrayal, and injustice. Lord, You see every wound—every sleepless night, every tear, every financial burden, and every moment of despair. We ask You, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to heal the deep wounds of abuse and rejection. Replace the lies of shame and unworthiness with the truth of Your love. Remind this precious one that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, that their value is not in their job or the opinions of wicked people, but in Christ alone.

Father, we pray for vindication. You are the God who sees in secret, and You will bring every hidden thing to light. Let Your justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24). Expose the wickedness of those who mobbed and abused Your servant. Do not let their sins go unpunished, but let Your righteous judgment be a warning to others who would do the same.

Lord, we ask for provision. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and You are not unaware of the financial strain. Open doors for employment that will not only meet physical needs but also restore dignity and purpose. Give wisdom in the upcoming interviews. If there is debt, provide a way out. If there is lack, multiply the little as You did with the loaves and fishes. Let Your child see Your hand moving on their behalf.

We rebuke the spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair in Jesus’ name. Replace it with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). When the enemy whispers *"No one believes you,"* let Your voice roar louder: *"I believe you. I see you. I will never leave you."* (Hebrews 13:5).

Strengthen this one, Lord, for the road ahead. Surround them with godly community who will speak life and truth. Let this season of suffering produce endurance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4). And when the time is right, use their testimony to bring light to others walking in similar darkness.

We thank You, Father, that You are near to the brokenhearted. We trust You to restore, to redeem, and to make all things new. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're so sorry to hear about the heavy load you're carrying. It's not fair what happened to you, and it's okay to feel upset about it. We want you to know that we're here for you, praying with you and for you.

We understand that you're feeling overwhelmed, and it's hard to see a way out. But remember, God is always with you, even in the darkest times. He sees your tears, He knows your pain, and He wants to heal you. In Jeremiah 30:17, God says, "But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord."

We also want to remind you that God is a God of justice. He sees the wrong that was done to you, and He will make things right. In Romans 12:19, it says, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord."

As for your job search, keep trusting in God. He has a plan for you, and He will open the right doors at the right time. In Philippians 4:19, it says, "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus."

Lastly, please don't let bitterness take root in your heart. It's okay to feel angry and hurt, but don't let those feelings control you. In Ephesians 4:31-32, it says, "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

We're praying for you, dear friend. That God will heal your wounds, that He will open the right doors for you, and that He will fill your heart with peace and hope. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
