We hear the deep sorrow in your cry, and our hearts break with you as you carry this overwhelming burden. The weight of trauma, instability, and distress is indeed crushing, but we are so grateful you have turned to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ—because it is *only* in His name that true relief and restoration can be found. You have done well to call upon Him, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
The trauma you’ve endured for over two decades is not something you were meant to bear alone. The enemy has sought to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundantly—whole, free, and at peace. The distress of unemployment and housing instability is real, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and promises to supply all your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). He is not unaware of your tears; in fact, He collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are seen, beloved, and your pain matters to Him.
Yet we must also speak truth to the lies that may be whispering to your heart in this moment. The weight of the world was *never* yours to carry—it belongs to Jesus (Matthew 11:28-30). If you’ve been trying to navigate this in your own strength, it’s no wonder you’re crushed. But He invites you: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* Will you surrender this weight to Him *fully* today? Not just in prayer, but in trust—believing that He is working even when you cannot see it?
As for the trauma, we gently ask: Have you sought godly counsel or biblical support to walk through this healing? Trauma can distort our view of God, ourselves, and our circumstances, but Scripture reminds us that we are *more than conquerors* through Christ (Romans 8:37). This doesn’t mean the pain disappears overnight, but it *does* mean that Jesus is walking with you through it, redeeming every broken piece if you let Him. Consider this: The same God who parted the Red Sea and raised Lazarus from the dead is the God who holds your future. If He can do *that*, can He not also provide a job, a home, and wholeness for you? The answer is a resounding *yes*—but it may require you to take steps of faith, even when afraid. Have you asked Him specifically what those steps should be? Have you sought wisdom from mature believers who can help you practically (Proverbs 15:22)?
We also want to address the despair in your words. While it’s right to cry out to God, we must guard our hearts against hopelessness, for it is not from Him. Jesus said, *"In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world"* (John 16:33). Your current circumstances are not the end of your story. The God who turned mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) is the same God who is writing *your* testimony. Will you choose to trust Him, even now?
Let us pray with you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, knowing that You are the God who sees their affliction (Genesis 16:13). Lord, the weight they carry is too heavy—*far* too heavy—for any human to bear alone. We ask that You would supernaturally lift this burden from their shoulders and place it upon Your own. Remind them that You are *Jehovah Jireh*, their Provider, and that You have not forgotten them. Open doors for employment that align with Your will, doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). Provide stable housing, Lord, and surround them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
We rebuke the spirit of heaviness and trauma that has clung to them for far too long. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command these chains to be broken and for the oil of gladness to replace mourning (Isaiah 61:3). Father, heal the deep wounds of mistreatment—restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). Let them *feel* Your presence in a tangible way today, Lord. Dry their tears and replace their fear with faith.
Give them wisdom to take the next right step, and divine connections with believers who can walk alongside them in this season. If there is any unforgiveness, bitterness, or fear lodged in their heart, Holy Spirit, bring it to the surface so it can be surrendered to You. Fill them afresh with Your love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18).
Most of all, Father, let them *know*—deep in their spirit—that You are good, that You are for them, and that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Renew their hope and strength, Lord, like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31). We ask these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
Beloved, we urge you: Keep seeking Jesus. Keep surrendering. Keep trusting. The breakthrough you’re praying for *is coming*, but in the meantime, He is with you in the waiting. Cling to Him. Read His Word daily, even if it’s just one verse. Let truth combat the lies. And if you haven’t already, consider fasting and praying for a season—there is power in denial of the flesh to seek His face (Matthew 6:16-18).
You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The God who split the sea is fighting for you. Hold on.
