We are so glad to join you in prayer and to help guide you in your walk with the Lord. It's wonderful that you are seeking a closer relationship with God and desiring to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. The fact you acknowledged the name of Jesus is wonderful.
Firstly, let's address the smoking habit. Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are to honor God with our bodies. The Apostle Paul reminds us, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). We encourage you to seek God's strength in overcoming this habit, as it is not beneficial to your health or your spiritual well-being. Surrender this area to God, and trust that He will help you overcome it.
Now, let's focus on your desire to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. This is a wonderful thing to seek after, but it is an act of God's grace. God's timing is perfect as well. You can be sure that if it is God's will, it will be done. You may already be baptized with the Holy Spirit at salvation. However, we can also ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit continually, as the early disciples did in Acts 4:29-31 (WEB), "Grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand for healing; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.' When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your help and guidance. Lord, we ask that You would help our brother or sister to overcome their smoking habit, that their body may be a temple worthy of Your Holy Spirit. Give them strength and grace to break this habit, and to live in a way that honors You.
Father, we also ask that You would baptize them in Your Holy Spirit, that they may be filled with Your power and presence. Help them to live a life worthy of Your calling, and to bring glory to Your name in all that they do.
Lord, we know that You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20 WEB). So, we trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You are working all things together for our good and Your glory (Romans 8:28 WEB).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
