We hear your heart crying out to Jesus for safety in this heatwave and we stand with you in prayer together before our Father in Jesus' name, thanking you for calling upon His name for help and protection.
We are reminded that our God is sovereign over all creation, over sun and heat and wind, and He is also our shelter in times of distress. We take comfort in His promises to be our shade and our keeper. As it is written, Yahweh is your keeper. Yahweh is your shade on your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. Psalm 121:5-6. And also, For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shade from the heat, when the blast of the dreaded ones is like a storm against the wall. Isaiah 25:4. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. And God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1.
We pray for you and for all who are affected by this extreme heat, especially the elderly, children, those who work outdoors, and those without adequate shelter or cooling. We ask God to keep you safe, to provide cool refuge, water, and rest, and to guard your health and strength.
We join together in prayer. Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and our shade. We thank You that You see this need and that You care for every detail of our lives. We ask You to spread Your hand of protection over us during this heatwave. Keep us from harm, from heat exhaustion and illness, and give us wisdom to care for our bodies which are Your temple. Lead us to drink water, to seek shelter, to rest when needed, and to watch over one another with love and compassion. Provide for those who are vulnerable and have no refuge, and move the hearts of neighbors and communities to help them. Let Your peace calm any fear or anxiety, and let us rest in the shadow of Your wings. We trust in Your mercy and Your power to sustain us. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your brief and earnest cry, Please Jesus keep us safe in the heatwave, has been brought before the Lord and we join our faith with yours at the throne of grace.
We are reminded that there is no attribute more comforting to the children of God than Divine Sovereignty. The Lord who appointed the seasons and who lets what we call the laws of nature take their course is still Lord over the sun and its heat. Physical evil which causes sorrow and pain is not outside His hand, and though He often allows the natural order to proceed, He is able to interpose for His people with Divine gentleness and power. As we have often said, His physical, moral and even spiritual keeping is a continuous miracle of grace.
Our safety lies not in our own prudence alone, though prudence is a duty, but in God our Savior who is able to keep you from falling. You need an infinite Friend to keep you in safety against all adversaries and all perils, and that Friend is Christ Himself. He has given His angels charge over His people to keep them in all their ways, and the way of trust and obedience is the way of safety. He that dwells under the shadow of the Most High shall find that protection is both personal and perpetual.
Let us pray together. O Lord our God, our only wise God and Savior, we bless Thee that Thou art sovereign over all creation. Thou sendest the sunshine and Thou canst temper its heat. We ask Thee in the name of Jesus Christ alone, through whom alone is salvation, to spread Thy hand over this dear one and over all who suffer in this fierce heat. Keep their bodies from harm, give wisdom to find shelter and water and rest, and guard the weak and the aged and those who labour under the sun. Let Thy Divine presence be their cooling shade and their exceeding joy. Keep their soul also in safety, and at last present them faultless before the presence of Thy glory. We thank Thee that Thy throne is established in righteousness and that not one of Thine own shall perish while Thy power keeps them. Grant grace to trust Thee fully and to give thanks for every mercy.

God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Your request for safety in this heatwave has been brought before the Lord and we join our prayers with yours in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.
We ask the Lord Jesus to be your rock and refuge in this heat, to guard your body from harm, to give you cool shelter, sufficient water, and rest, and to protect those around you who are most vulnerable to the heat. We pray that He will keep you in perfect safety, not by removing every trial, but by giving you endurance and strength to pass through it with faith, for endurance is what displays and increases our salvation and makes it shine.
We also pray for the health that pertains to the soul, that even as we seek bodily safety we would trust not in ourselves but in God who delivers, and that we would keep our hearts free from disordered desires and fixed on Christ. When many pray together with one mind, God hears and grants protection, and so we stand with you and for your community in prayer.
In this time, may the Lord also equip you to live for the good of others, as each person has been given talents to use for their neighbor, whether through offering help, sharing resources, checking on those in need, or giving protection and care. Your prayer for safety in this heatwave has been brought before the Lord and I am praying with you for His protection and mercy.
God understands the danger of extreme heat and the body's need for shelter, water and rest. When His people traveled through the wilderness, the sun was fierce and they would have quickly become dehydrated trying to move under that heat. In His care He gave them a cloud by day to cover them and shield them from the burning rays so they could be sustained. He did not rebuke them for having a natural need for relief. He recognized it and provided for it. In the same way He sees your need now and He is able to be your covering and your shade.
Scripture also points us to a deeper safety. In the Passover, God provided a way to be spared from judgment through the blood of the lamb placed on the doorposts. Those inside that house where the blood was applied were safe when judgment passed through the land. That was a picture of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. The only true place of lasting safety is in Him. It comes through faith in His shed blood, and Jesus calls us to abide in Him, to remain in Him and let His words remain in us, as a branch remains in the vine.
I am asking Jesus to keep you safe from harm in this heat, to give you wisdom to stay cool and hydrated, to provide what you need day by day, and to guard those around you who are vulnerable as well. And I am also praying that you will know the comfort of abiding in Christ, resting under His covering not only for this present need but for eternity, trusting that His blood is your seal and protection.
