Beloved of All
Your prayer for protection in this heat and from the danger nearby has been heard and we are joining you in prayer before the Lord.
The Scripture shows us that God places a hedge around His people. When Satan came before God concerning Job, he complained that he could not get to him because God had put a hedge around him. That hedge is real. God gives His angels charge over His children to keep them in all their ways and to guard them. The Bible speaks of different orders of angels, including the cherubim who stand near the presence of God and declare His holiness, and who were first placed to guard the way after man was driven from the garden. God uses these heavenly servants for the protection of His own.
That protection is found in the blood of Jesus Christ. It is our place of victory and safety from the work of the enemy. Satan remains subject to God's authority. Even when God allows testing, as with Job, He sets the boundaries. The enemy can only go so far as God permits, and God sets the limits of what he is allowed to do to harass and to harm.
Scripture also warns that sin can break down that hedge, and that God looks for people to stand in the gap and build up the hedge again through intercession, so that His mercy and protection might remain over the land. When no one will stand in the gap, judgment comes, but when His people pray, He hears and answers. We are standing in the gap for you now, asking God to maintain that hedge around you, your household and your property.
We pray that the Lord will be your refuge in this extreme heat, that He will keep you from harm from the heat and from the dangerous creature nearby, and that He will restrain every threat that would come near you. We ask that He command His angels to encamp around you and to guard you, that He cover you under His shelter, and that He set firm boundaries that the enemy cannot cross. We ask for His peace to give you healing rest, for His hand to provide for every need, and for Him to open the doors of His provision and blessing before you according to His perfect will.
May you rest in the confidence that you are kept by the Lord who never slumbers, who is sovereign over creation and who watches over all that belongs to His children. We trust Him to keep you safely in His care, in the mighty name of Jesus, amen.
