We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting you up in prayer and seeking the Lord’s mercy and provision for your desperate situation. You are not forgotten, and we stand with you in faith, believing that God sees your struggle and will make a way where there seems to be no way. The weight of financial ruin, the threat of eviction, and the isolation you feel are overwhelming, but we declare that the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
First, we must address the spiritual battle you are facing. Despair and unbelief are tools the enemy uses to steal hope and keep you from trusting in God’s promises. The Word tells us, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence"* (Psalm 42:5). We rebuke the spirit of despair in Jesus’ name and command it to leave you. You are not alone—God is with you, and He will never abandon you. The Lord says, *"I will never leave you nor forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). Cling to this truth, even when your emotions tell you otherwise.
Your mention of bankruptcy and eviction reveals a deep crisis, but we must also address the root of how this situation came to be. You shared that abuse at work led to the loss of your income, and while we do not know the full details, we encourage you to seek justice through godly means if possible. The Bible says, *"Do not exploit the poor because they are poor, and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life"* (Proverbs 22:22-23). If there is legal recourse or restitution you can pursue, we encourage you to do so with wisdom and prayer. However, we also recognize that sometimes the systems of this world fail us, and in those moments, our trust must be in God alone.
The fear of ending up on the streets and the temptation to compromise your values to survive are very real. We understand the desperation that can lead people to make choices they never thought they would make. But we urge you—do not give in to those temptations. The Lord provides a way out of every temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13), and He will not allow you to be tested beyond what you can bear. We rebuke the lie that you must turn to vices or sin to survive. Instead, we declare that God will open doors of provision and opportunity that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). You are not without options, even if they are not yet visible to you.
You mentioned feeling like you have no marketable skills and no motivation. This is a common tactic of the enemy—to make you feel worthless and powerless. But we remind you that your worth is not found in your job, your income, or your abilities. Your worth is found in Christ, who loved you and gave Himself for you (Galatians 2:20). The Lord has a plan for your life, and He will equip you for the work He has called you to do. *"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them"* (Ephesians 2:10). Even now, He is preparing you for the next season of your life. We encourage you to seek out free or low-cost job training programs, volunteer opportunities to gain experience, or even temporary work to keep you afloat while you rebuild. The Lord can use even the smallest step of obedience to open doors.
We must also address the spiritual foundation of your request. You came before the Lord in Jesus’ name, and we are grateful for that, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we receive salvation, hope, and access to God’s throne of grace. If you have never placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and invite Him into your heart. The Bible says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most important step in finding true peace and direction in your life.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for our brother/sister in Christ who is facing overwhelming trials. Lord, You see the financial burden, the threat of eviction, and the despair that is creeping in. We ask that You would intervene in this situation in a mighty way. Provide a place of shelter, Lord, whether through a compassionate landlord, a friend or family member, or even a temporary housing program. Open doors of employment, Father, and give our brother/sister the strength and motivation to pursue them. Equip him/her with the skills and opportunities needed to rebuild.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of despair and unbelief that is trying to take hold. Fill him/her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind him/her that You are a God who sees, who hears, and who acts on behalf of Your children. Break the chains of isolation, Father, and surround him/her with godly counsel and community. Bring trustworthy advisors into his/her life who can offer wisdom and support.
We pray for protection over his/her heart and mind. Guard him/her from the temptation to compromise or turn to sin in order to survive. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Strengthen his/her faith, Lord, and help him/her to trust in You even when the path is unclear.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw him/her closer to You. Let this trial be a refining fire that deepens his/her relationship with You. May he/she experience Your presence in a tangible way and find hope in Your promises. We declare that this is not the end of his/her story—it is a chapter in a testimony of Your faithfulness.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to the Word of God during this time. Meditate on scriptures like Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future,"* and Psalm 34:17-18, *"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* The Lord hears your cries, and He will answer.
In the meantime, seek out local churches or Christian organizations that may offer assistance with housing, job training, or financial counseling. Many communities have resources for those in crisis, and we encourage you to reach out to them. You do not have to navigate this alone. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support you in prayer and encouragement.
Lastly, we urge you to guard your heart against bitterness. It is easy to become resentful toward those who have wronged you or toward a system that seems stacked against you. But the Bible warns us, *"Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it"* (Hebrews 12:15). Forgiveness is not about excusing the wrong that was done to you; it is about releasing the burden of anger and bitterness so that you can move forward in freedom. Ask the Lord to help you forgive those who have hurt you, and trust Him to bring justice in His time.
You are not forgotten. You are not without hope. The God who parted the Red Sea, who fed the five thousand with five loaves and two fish, and who raised Jesus from the dead is the same God who is with you now. He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Keep your eyes on Him, and do not lose heart. Your breakthrough is coming.
