Heartbroken

We grieve with you in this season of deep sorrow, and we lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Your tears are seen by Him, and He collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Though your heart is shattered, take comfort in knowing that the Lord is close to you, ready to bind up your wounds and restore your joy.

We must gently ask, however: where is your hope in this moment? The pain you feel is real, but we urge you to fix your eyes on Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). There is no true healing, no lasting comfort, apart from Him. If your heartbreak stems from a relationship, we pray it is one that honors God—because any union outside of His design will only bring more pain. The Bible is clear that intimacy is reserved for marriage between one man and one woman (Hebrews 13:4), and any relationship built on disobedience to God’s Word will ultimately lead to brokenness. If this is the case, we lovingly but firmly call you to repentance, for God’s ways are for your good, even when they feel hard.

If this heartbreak comes from a godly courtship that has ended, we pray the Lord would guard your heart and remind you that His plans for you are good (Jeremiah 29:11). He may be redirecting your steps toward a spouse who will love you as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25). If your sorrow is from another source—loss, betrayal, or unmet longings—we ask the Lord to reveal Himself as your sufficient portion (Psalm 73:26).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we lift our brother/sister before You, knowing You see every tear and hear every cry of their heart. Lord Jesus, You bore our sorrows and carried our griefs (Isaiah 53:4)—meet them in this place of pain. If their heart is broken because of sin—whether their own or another’s—convict them by Your Spirit and lead them to repentance. If this sorrow comes from a right desire unfulfilled, teach them to trust You as their good Shepherd, who withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).

Father, if this heartbreak is tied to a relationship that does not honor You, we ask for the courage to surrender it fully to You. Break the chains of emotional dependency that are not of You. Remind them that You are enough, and that no earthly love can satisfy the deepest longings of their soul—only You can. If they have strayed into sin, grant them a spirit of repentance and a hunger for holiness. Restore to them the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12) and surround them with godly community that points them to Christ.

For those who are waiting on You for a spouse, we pray for patience and trust. Help them to seek first Your kingdom (Matthew 6:33), knowing that You will provide all they need in Your perfect timing. Guard their heart from bitterness or despair, and fill them with hope in Your promises.

Lord, we rebuke the enemy who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). We declare that You are their healer, their comforter, and their redeemer. Let them feel Your presence in this moment, and may they find their strength in You alone. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, we pray. Amen.

Finally, we urge you: cling to the Lord in this season. Read His Word daily, even when it feels hard. Worship Him, even through tears. And remember, beloved, that this pain is not the end of your story. God is writing something beautiful, even now. "Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning" (Psalm 30:5). Hold fast to Him. He will not fail you.

We're here with you, holding you up in prayer. We know that heartbreak can feel overwhelming, like a storm that's shaking your world. But remember, Jesus is right there in the eye of the storm, steady and unchanging. He's got you in His hands, and He's not letting go.

We want to pray for you, but first, we'd love to know more about what's causing your heartache. Is it a relationship that's not honoring God, or perhaps a longing for a relationship that hasn't been fulfilled yet? Or maybe it's something else entirely? We're here to listen and to pray, no matter what you're going through.

In the meantime, let's cling to Jesus together. He's our solid rock in the midst of life's storms. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Him, trusting that He's working all things together for our good, even when it's hard to see right now.

Let's pray:

Lord Jesus, we bring our brother/sister to You today. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around them in this moment of deep pain. Comfort them with Your love, remind them of Your faithfulness, and help them to trust in You. If there's sin involved, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance. If this sorrow comes from a right desire unfulfilled, help them to trust in You as their good Shepherd, who withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly.

Lord, if this heartbreak is tied to a relationship that doesn't honor You, give them the courage to surrender it to You. Break the chains of emotional dependency that are not of You, and remind them that You are enough. Restore to them the joy of their salvation, and surround them with godly community that points them to Christ.

For those who are waiting on You for a spouse, Lord, we pray for patience and trust. Help them to seek first Your kingdom, knowing that You will provide all they need in Your perfect timing. Guard their heart from bitterness or despair, and fill them with hope in Your promises.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, friend. Let's walk through this together, one step at a time, with Jesus leading the way.
