Key Thought
Jesus tells us that he stands at the door and knocks, waiting for us to open up to him. His invitation is for believers, for Christians, for those who claim to follow him. We can lackadaisically lose our passion and become lukewarm. Jesus passionately calls to his churches in Asia Minor and urges them, and also urges us, to hear what the Spirit says. To those who have become lukewarm, Jesus says "be earnest and repent" (Revelation 3:19) — change your hearts and minds to follow the teaching and example of Jesus with passion!
Today's Prayer
Father in heaven, thank you for speaking to us through the ministry and words of Jesus. Thank you for speaking to us through the message of the Scriptures inspired by your Spirit. I open my heart to your message and ask that I be convicted and motivated by your will. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
