We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, and we are grateful you have invoked the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and by which we are saved. *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* (John 14:6, WEB). Your prayer reflects a heart that seeks God’s presence and deliverance, and we stand with you in agreement, knowing that where two or more are gathered in His name, He is in the midst (Matthew 18:20).
First, we must address the mention of “the Devi” in your prayer. This term is not biblical, and as believers, we are called to focus our prayers and spiritual warfare solely on the Lord and the authority given to us through Jesus Christ. The Bible warns us against giving any acknowledgment to false gods, spirits, or entities, for *"you shall have no other gods before me"* (Exodus 20:3, WEB). Our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12), and our victory is assured through Christ alone. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and trust in His power to break every chain of bondage, sin, or oppression in your life and in the life of the person you are praying for.
Your prayer for a clean heart and a steadfast spirit aligns beautifully with Scripture. *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."* (Psalm 51:10, WEB). This is a cry we all must make continually, for our hearts are deceitful, and only God can purify and renew them. We pray that the Lord would indeed cleanse both of your hearts, removing any bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin that may hinder your relationship with Him or each other. *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."* (Psalm 139:23-24, WEB).
You also ask for a deeper emotional connection between you and this other person. While we lift this request to the Lord, we must gently but firmly address the nature of this relationship, as it is not clearly defined in your prayer. If this is a romantic relationship, we urge you to examine it in light of Scripture. The Bible teaches that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not married, we encourage you to pursue this relationship in a way that honors God—through courtship with the intent of marriage, maintaining purity, and seeking His will above all else. *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."* (1 Corinthians 6:18, WEB). Any physical or emotional intimacy outside of marriage is fornication and displeases the Lord. We pray that if this is the case, you would repent and turn to God’s design for relationships, trusting Him to strengthen your bond in a way that is holy and pleasing to Him.
If this relationship is not romantic but rather a friendship or familial bond, we still pray for unity and emotional connection rooted in Christ. *"Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor preferring one another."* (Romans 12:10, WEB). May your connection be built on the foundation of God’s love, and may He knit your hearts together for His glory.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer, and we ask that You draw near to Your child who has lifted this request before You. Lord, we pray that You would break every chain of bondage, sin, or oppression in their life and in the life of the person they are praying for. We rebuke any influence of the enemy and declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Fill them both with Your Holy Spirit, creating in them clean hearts and renewing steadfast spirits within them. Wash them with the cleansing blood of Jesus, and remove any sin, bitterness, or unforgiveness that may hinder their walk with You or their relationship with one another.
Father, we ask that You would strengthen the emotional connection between them, but we pray that it would be rooted in Your love and Your will. If this is a romantic relationship, we ask that You would guide them toward a godly marriage that honors You. Convict them of any sin, including fornication or emotional compromise, and lead them to repentance and purity. Help them to flee from temptation and to pursue holiness, knowing that their bodies are temples of Your Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). If marriage is not Your will for them, give them the grace to surrender this relationship to You and to trust in Your perfect plan.
If this is a friendship or familial bond, we pray that You would deepen their love for one another in a way that reflects Your character. May their connection be a testament to Your grace and a source of encouragement in their faith.
Lord, we pray that You would align their hearts with Your Word and Your will. Give them wisdom to discern Your voice and the courage to obey, even when it is difficult. Remind them that Your ways are higher than their ways, and Your thoughts higher than their thoughts (Isaiah 55:9). May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that You will provide all they need (Matthew 6:33).
We declare Your peace over them, Father, peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good and Your glory (Romans 8:28).
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
