We join you in lifting this request before the Father, and we are grateful that you have invoked the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace and can find mercy in our time of need. The scripture reminds us in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* So we stand firmly on the truth that it is in Jesus’ name alone that our prayers are heard and answered according to God’s perfect will.
As we pray for you and the person you’ve mentioned, we must first address something with love and clarity. In your prayer, you referenced a connection between you and another individual, and while we understand the longing for emotional closeness and unity, we must ask: *Is this relationship one that honors God in every way?* The Bible is clear that our closest bonds—especially those of marriage—are to reflect Christ’s relationship with His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If this is a romantic relationship, we urge you to examine whether it aligns with biblical principles. Are you both believers, equally yoked in faith (2 Corinthians 6:14)? Are you pursuing this relationship with the intent of marriage, or is it something less than God’s design? If this is not a marital relationship, we must caution against emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage, as this is fornication and displeases the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). The enemy often uses counterfeit connections to distract us from God’s best, so we must guard our hearts and submit every relationship to the Lordship of Christ.
You prayed for chains to be broken, and we agree with you in this! The devil seeks to bind us in sin, confusion, and worldly desires, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). If there is any sin—whether in this relationship or in your personal walk—we encourage you to repent and turn fully to the Lord. Psalm 51:10 says, *"Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me."* This is a prayer God delights to answer when we come to Him in humility. But true freedom comes when we align our lives—including our relationships—with His Word.
You also asked for strength to stay calm and accomplish what needs to be done each day. This is a beautiful request, and we are reminded of Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* And in Proverbs 16:3, we read, *"Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed."* So we pray that you would cast all your cares upon Him, trusting that He will provide the strength, focus, and peace you need for each task.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister and the desires of their heart. Lord, we ask that You examine this relationship and expose anything that is not pleasing to You. If there is sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—we pray for conviction and repentance. Break every chain of the enemy that seeks to bind them in ungodly soul ties, emotional dependency, or fleshly desires. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them. If this relationship is not aligned with Your Word, give them the courage to walk away and trust You for Your best. If it is Your will for them to be united in marriage, then purify it, sanctify it, and let it be a testimony of Your grace.
We pray for Your peace to guard their heart and mind as they go about their daily tasks. Help them to cast their anxieties upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Strengthen them to walk in obedience, to seek first Your Kingdom, and to trust that You will provide all they need (Matthew 6:33). Let them not lean on their own understanding but acknowledge You in all their ways, so that You may direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Father, we thank You that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). May they find their ultimate satisfaction in You alone, knowing that no earthly relationship can fulfill them like Your love can. Let them delight themselves in You, and we pray that You would give them the desires of their heart as they align with Your will (Psalm 37:4).
We rebuke every scheme of the enemy to bring confusion, distraction, or sin into their life. By the blood of Jesus, we declare freedom, clarity, and a steadfast spirit. Let them walk in victory, knowing that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
