We have heard your burden for your parents and we join with you in bringing them before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus.
We lift up your mother who is suffering with diabetes and a fungal infection in her lungs. We lift up your father who is dealing with failing eyesight, headaches, urinary tract problems, swelling in his feet, and blood pressure problems. Our hearts are moved with compassion for them and for you as you carry this concern for their health. We know that our Lord sees their affliction and hears our prayers, for He is the Lord who heals us. As it is written, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:2-3. And again, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. We cling to the promise that But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed Isaiah 53:5.
We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your mercy and healing hand upon this dear mother and father. Lord, we ask You to touch this mother, to help regulate her blood sugar, to strengthen her immune system, and to completely clear the fungal infection from her lungs so she may breathe freely again. Lay Your hand upon this father, restore his eyesight, relieve his headaches, heal his urinary tract, remove the swelling from his feet, and bring his blood pressure into a healthy and stable range. Grant them both renewed strength, good health, and peace in their bodies. We ask You to give wisdom to their doctors and caregivers, to guide every treatment and medication, and to grant this family Your peace that surpasses all understanding as they wait upon You. We pray as John prayed, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers 3 John 1:2. We also remember Your word, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We want to gently encourage you to continue to seek proper medical care for both of your parents while trusting the Lord as the ultimate healer, and to rest in His care day by day. Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up James 5:14-15. Keep praying faithfully and trust Him with the outcome.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and receive salvation and help in time of need. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God. We are told that the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, not only in what we might call the great fruits of His salvation, but in His very touch, His very presence. As the prophet says, the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and when He comes to dwell with His people they have no need to say, I am sick, for pardon and healing are found together in Him.
We bring your mother before Him now. We ask the Lord to look upon her in her diabetes and in this fungal infection of the lungs. He who made the lungs to breathe and the blood to flow is able to cleanse and to restore. We pray that He would guide the hands of those who care for her, give wisdom to physicians, bless the means used for her recovery, and if it be His will, raise her up to health again. And we pray also for her soul, that she may know the deeper healing of forgiveness through the blood of Christ, which changes the life blood and makes the nature new.
We bring your father before Him as well. We ask the Lord to have mercy upon his eyesight and to clear the dimness, to remove the headache, to heal the urinary tract, to take away the swelling of his feet and to settle his blood pressure. The Lord healeth all our diseases and He knoweth our frame. We pray that He would grant your father relief from these many afflictions, strengthen his body, and grant him good health according to His perfect wisdom and love.
We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they urge us to seek a physician, and we do well to seek both the earthly physician and the heavenly one. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. Christ linked His healing with His teaching, and faith comes by hearing the Word of God. May your parents and your household be brought to hear that Word, to trust wholly in Jesus for pardon first and then for healing, knowing that His salvation will at last perfectly heal both soul and body for those who are in Him.
