We have heard your cry for healing and we stand with you together seeking the Lord's mercy and will in the name of Jesus Christ. Your heart pours out for so many, for your own body and marriage, for your sisters and families and friends, for a young girl with brain cancer and her parents, and for your whole community wounded by a school shooting, and the Lord hears every word.
We want to gently remind you of the precious truth that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by Him that we are saved. You have called upon the Lord with a sincere heart and we rejoice in that, and we want to encourage you to call specifically upon Jesus Christ our Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. As it is written, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. If you have not already, place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and you will have eternal life and bold access to God's throne of grace.
We lift up your marriage before the Lord. We believe marriage is a holy and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and we pray that He will strengthen your union, give you both health, patience and grace to get along in love, to bear with one another and to forgive as Christ forgave us. We pray that your home would be filled with peace and that you would encourage one another daily in the Lord.
We bring your body before our Healer. You have asked for healing from depression and anxiety, from hearing loss and loud ringing in your ears, and from a bowel problem that has left you beside yourself and in great distress. We know how heavy these burdens are. Scripture tells us to cast all our anxiety on him, because he cares for us in 1 Peter 5:7 and to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus in Philippians 4:6-7. We also remember that He is Yahweh who heals you in Exodus 15:26 and that He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:2-3 and that by his wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5. We pray for His healing touch upon your bowels, upon your ears to quiet the ringing and restore hearing, and upon your mind to lift the weight of depression and anxiety and to give you rest, for Jesus said Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest in Matthew 11:28. We encourage you also to continue to seek wise medical care alongside prayer, for the Lord often works through the hands of physicians, and to share these struggles with a trusted pastor or godly counselor and with your spouse so you are not carrying them alone.
We pray for your sisters and their families and your friends, that the Lord would keep them in health and draw each of them closer to Himself.
We lift up the young girl with brain cancer who does not have long to live and her parents. Our hearts ache with you for her. We pray that the Lord would give her deep peace that surpasses understanding, that He would be close to her as He is close to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18, and that He would comfort and strengthen her parents with His presence. We pray for healing according to His perfect will, knowing that He is able to do far more than we ask, and we trust His mercy whether healing comes in this life or in the perfect wholeness of His presence. We pray as it is written I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17.
We also weep with you over the school shooting in your community. We pray for all the children and parents from that school, for the families of the precious children and the teacher who were killed, and for the entire community. We ask the Lord to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds in Psalm 147:3, to be near to all who mourn, to bring comfort, peace and even healing from trauma, and to guard the hearts of the children who remain with His perfect love that casts out fear.
And now we pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You hear us when we call. We ask for Your healing hand upon our dear one who is suffering with bowel affliction, with loud ringing and hearing loss, with depression and anxiety. Touch this body, Lord, calm the mind, quiet the ears, restore the bowels and bring complete health according to Your will. Heal this marriage, Lord, give unity, health, kindness and love that honors You. Lay Your hands upon the sisters and families and friends and keep them well. Have mercy upon the young girl with brain cancer, surround her with Your peace and presence, comfort her parents and family and let them feel You near. Comfort every child, parent, teacher and neighbor affected by this school shooting, heal the trauma, wipe away tears and bring Your peace to this community. We ask all these things trusting not in our worthiness but in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, for Your glory. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to the Lord daily, to read His Word and to rest in His promises, for we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose in Romans 8:28. We are praying with you and for you, that the Lord will show Himself strong on your behalf and give you His peace.
