Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for ###, a woman my brother accidentally struck with his truck Saturday morning around 6:00 a.m. She is in critical condition. Please pray that the swelling in her brain goes down and that she can recover and continue living a full life with her two teenage daughters.

Please also pray for my brother ###, a Christian man who did not see her crossing the road in the heavy fog. He stopped to help, but he is devastated by the accident. Please pray that he finds peace as he copes with what happened.

The Ministry of Gratitude
True gratitude for Christ’s healing moves us to serve Him immediately in everyday acts of love.
We join you in lifting up this tragic and heavy situation before our Heavenly Father together in Jesus' name, asking for His mercy, healing, and peace to be poured out on all who are affected.

Our hearts ache for this woman who is in critical condition and for her two teenage daughters who must be so frightened right now. We pray for the Lord's healing hand to be upon her, especially that the swelling in her brain would subside and that her body would respond to treatment. We know that our God is the great physician who sees her and loves her. As it is written, He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3. We ask that He would restore health to her and heal her of her wounds Jeremiah 30:17 and grant the doctors wisdom and skill as they care for her. We pray that if it is His will, He would allow her to recover fully and continue living a full life with her daughters, and that He would comfort and sustain those daughters with His presence in this time of uncertainty.

We also lift up your brother before the Lord. We understand he is a Christian man who is devastated after this accident in the heavy fog, and we thank God that he stopped to help and showed compassion. We pray that the Lord would draw near to him in his brokenness and guilt, and grant him the peace that surpasses all understanding. Though this was a terrible accident, we know the weight he carries is heavy. We pray the promise that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 would be his comfort, and that You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you Isaiah 26:3. We pray he would cast all his anxiety on the Lord because He cares for him 1 Peter 5:7 and that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and his thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We pray he would not be consumed by condemnation, for there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1, and that he would find rest in God's grace and sovereignty, trusting that even in tragedy God is still good and still in control, and we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We want to gently remind you how precious it is that we can come boldly before the throne of grace, and it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have this access. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We are thankful your brother knows Christ, and we pray that both families would cling to Jesus as their only hope and healer in this valley.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear woman to You. Lord, You know her by name, You know her daughters, You know every detail of her injuries. We ask You to have mercy on her, to cause the swelling in her brain to go down, to protect her brain and body from further harm, and to breathe life and healing into her. Touch her with Your healing power and let her live to testify of Your goodness. Comfort her daughters, wrap Your arms around them, and let them feel Your nearness. And Father, we lift up this brother in Christ who is devastated. Forgive him, comfort him, and quiet his heart with Your perfect peace. Help him to cope with what has happened not in his own strength but in Yours, and remind him daily that You are with him, that You love him, and that You will carry him through this. Give both families strength for each day and hope for the future. We ask all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We were so sorry to read what happened Saturday morning. We are holding both this mother and your brother before the Lord with you.

It is heartbreaking to picture this woman in critical condition with her daughters waiting, and also to picture your brother carrying the weight of having been the driver even though the heavy fog made it impossible to see her. That kind of shock often brings heavy guilt and replaying the moment, thinking I should have been able to stop it, even when there was nothing he could have done differently. It helps to name that as a normal human response to a terrible, sudden event, not as the truth about who he is.

One gentle step that can help right now is to stay close to him without trying to fix the feelings. Listen when he wants to talk, let him be quiet when he does not, and encourage him to stay connected to a pastor or a trusted friend in the coming days and weeks so he does not carry this alone. If he continues to feel overwhelmed, a conversation with a counselor or pastor can be a steady support alongside prayer. And if you have a way to let the family know you are praying, even a simple note of care for the daughters can mean much.

We pray for this dear mother, that the Lord would have mercy on her, ease the swelling in her brain and guide the hands of those caring for her, and comfort her two daughters with His nearness. We pray for your brother, that God would quiet his heart, lift the crushing weight of guilt, and give him peace as he walks through the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have heard your heavy burden with much tenderness of heart and have carried it before the throne of grace.

We have prayed for this dear woman who lies in critical condition, that the Lord who is the great Physician would lay His healing hand upon her. We entreated Him that the swelling in her brain would subside and that her life would be spared and restored, if it be His gracious will, that she may yet live a full life with her two daughters. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and not only His fruit but the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. As it is written, with His stripes we are healed, and the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. We have asked the Lord to show His mercy in her body, and to make His healing virtue known in this dark providence, and to keep her daughters and all who love her in His tender care in this hour of waiting and sorrow.

We have prayed also for your brother, who though he stopped to help is now devastated by what has come to pass in the heavy fog of that early morning. We have asked that the God of all comfort would keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed upon Him, because he trusts in Him. That peace which the blood of Jesus whispers within is a present possession even when sorrows are surging round, and to do the will of Jesus and to trust Him in the trial is rest. May the Lord lift from him the weight of crushing distress, and give him to know that peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ which passes all understanding, and to find his rest not in forgetting what has happened but in casting his burden upon the Saviour who bore our sicknesses and carried our sorrows.

We will continue to bear you both up before the Lord, that He would be pleased to grant healing where healing is needed and pardon and peace where the heart is wounded, and that whether in life or in death His name would be glorified and His grace made manifest. May the Lord hear our prayer and do according to His infinite wisdom and mercy. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in prayer before our merciful Lord for both of these precious lives weighed down by this sudden tragedy.

We pray for this mother who lies in critical condition. We ask the Lord, who formed her and knows her by name, to be gracious to her. We pray that He would guide the hands of the physicians and nurses caring for her, that the swelling in her brain would decrease, that her body would be stabilized and restored, and that she might be spared to live a full life with her two daughters who need her. We pray for those daughters as they wait in fear and sorrow, that God would guard their hearts and surround them with comfort and support in these difficult hours.

We also pray for your brother. We thank God that he stopped to help and did not turn away, and we recognize the heavy burden he now carries. It is right that his heart is grieved, for love does not take harm to a neighbor lightly. We pray that God would give him a deep and abiding peace, not as the world gives, but the peace that comes from knowing Christ bears our sorrows and forgives our failings. May he cast his anguish upon the Lord, confess all that weighs on his conscience, and receive the assurance that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. May he find strength to walk through the days ahead with humility, patience, and trust in God's providence.

In times like this we are reminded that affliction itself is not the greatest evil, but sin is. God is able to bring good even out of great suffering, as He opened the eyes of the blind man not only to physical sight but to see the glory of His Son. We do not know His purposes in this foggy morning and this painful accident, but we know He is the King of righteousness and the King of peace, and that His love united heaven and earth when He gave His Son for us. That same love is present now, able to heal, to comfort, and to redeem.

So we pray together: Father in heaven, have mercy upon this woman and upon this family. Lay Your healing hand upon her and bring down the swelling that threatens her life. Restore her to health according to Your will, and let her daughters rejoice to have their mother with them again. Have mercy also upon this brother who is devastated. Forgive him, comfort him, and give him quietness of soul as he entrusts all things to You. Lead both families through this valley with Your grace, and let Your name be glorified in compassion, healing, and peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who suffered for us and lives to intercede for us. Amen.
