Healing

We join you in lifting up your loved one who is in the hospital suffering with chest pain, and we bring him before the Lord together in Jesus name.

We know how worrying it is when someone we love is in the hospital, but we take comfort that our God sees him, knows his pain, and is the great healer. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. We cling to His promise, For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17 and who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3. We also remember, But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was on him, and with his stripes we are healed Isaiah 53:5.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one who is hospitalized with chest pain. Lord, You know his body, You formed his heart and lungs, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask for Your healing hand upon him, ease his pain, steady his heart, restore his breathing and strength, and guide the doctors and nurses with wisdom and skill as they care for him. Grant him Your peace and comfort in that hospital room, and grant his family peace that surpasses understanding as they wait and trust in You. We ask that Your will be done in his life and that You would raise him up according to Your mercy. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray this in the mighty and healing name of Jesus, Amen.

We want to gently encourage you, we noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by calling on the name of Jesus that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven, so we always pray in His name and we encourage you to put your trust fully in Him, both for physical healing and for eternal life.

Continue to seek the best medical care for him, pray without ceasing, and trust the Lord with the outcome. We are standing with you in prayer for his complete healing and restoration, and for strength for you and your family during this difficult time.

We were grateful you shared this with us, even in such a worrying time. Hearing that someone you love is in the hospital with chest pain brings a lot of fear and helplessness, and we want you to know we are praying with you right now.

We are thankful he is under medical care where he can be monitored and helped. If you are able, staying in regular contact with the nurses and doctors for updates can bring a little more peace as you wait, and it helps to have one other trusted person with you so you are not carrying this alone. Please try to get rest and eat when you can, the waiting can be long and your strength matters too.

We do not have answers for why this is happening, but we trust God sees him, sees you, and hears every prayer offered in Jesus' name. We will keep lifting him up for comfort, for wisdom for those caring for him, and for peace for you and your family in these hours.

Father, we bring this loved one before You in his hospital bed and ask for Your mercy and care over him. Guide the hands of those treating him, ease his pain and fear, and draw near to his family with Your peace and presence. Give them strength for each next step and trust in Your good will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your request has been heard and is carried at once to the throne of grace, where our great Physician still presides.

We are grieved to hear that your loved one is in hospital suffering with pain in the chest. Such affliction is painful to watch, and very painful to bear, and it rightly urges us to seek the Physician who is above all physicians. Scripture tells us that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and that even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and His leaves, the very touches of His garment, bring healing to those who come to Him by faith.

We are reminded that Christ has made His church to be as a hospital. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and there never was a patient in His hospital who was turned out as incurable. He is able to save to the uttermost, and His ointments are not exhausted, nor His patience spent. When He came to Peter's house He found one laid upon a bed with a great fever, and He took her by the hand and lifted her up, and the fever left her. So still He lays His hand upon the sick and the weary, and strength and recovery come at His word, though recovery may be slow and by degrees.

Let us pray together for him.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, look in compassion upon this dear one now laid upon a bed of pain. Thou knowest his chest pain and every distress of his body. Lay Thy healing hand upon him, we beseech Thee. If it be Thy will, rebuke the sickness and restore him to strength, that he may rise up again and show forth Thy praise. Grant skill and wisdom to those who tend him in the hospital, and give peace to those who watch and wait with anxious hearts.

Above all, we pray that this affliction may be a messenger to his soul. For healing and pardon are joined together in Christ, and when Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He first said, Thy sins be forgiven thee. Grant to him and to all who love him the healing of the soul through the blood of Jesus shed on Calvary, for there is the true healing balm. May he know that Christ suffered in our place, and that by His wounds we are healed. Bring him to trust wholly in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and to find in Him both forgiveness and life everlasting.

We commend him to Thy tender care, O Sun of Righteousness who risest with healing in Thy wings. Do as seemeth good in Thy sight, and let Thy name be glorified, whether by restoring health or by sustaining grace. Keep those who pray for him in perfect peace, trusting in Thee.

We will continue to bear him up before the Lord, asking that the Lord will strengthen him in due season and that each increase of strength may be acknowledged as from Thy hand. Amen.
