Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly and for letting us pray with you. I hear how scared and worried you feel as Wednesday approaches, and how much you are longing for mercy and for good news.

It is understandable to feel anxiety before a procedure like this, and God sees that fear. He does not leave you alone in it. Scripture reminds us not to live in perpetual fear and anxiety, but to bring our needs to Him, for He is able to guard both body and soul and He hears the prayers of His people. We cannot always know what the results will be, but we can know that He is near, that He is merciful, and that He invites us to come to Him directly through Jesus Christ.

We will be praying for you tomorrow and on Wednesday, asking the Lord to be with you, to give you peace that steadies your heart, to guide the hands of the medical team with wisdom and care, and to grant healing according to His gracious will. We will ask Him to hold you and comfort you when you feel most afraid, and to help you rest in His presence.

The Bible teaches that we have one mediator between God and humanity, Jesus Christ Himself, and that through Him we can come boldly to the Father's throne to receive mercy and grace. So we will bring your request directly to God in Jesus name, trusting that He hears and loves you deeply.

Let us pray together:

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we bring this dear one to You. You see the fear and worry about this procedure and the fear of cancer. Please show Your mercy, bring peace to this troubled heart, and be present in the procedure room. Guide the doctors and nurses, grant wisdom and skill, and we ask for a good report and for healing if it is Your will. Above all, let Your comforting presence be felt, and help this heart to trust You more each day. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone saves and intercedes for us. Amen.

Your request has been heard and I am praying for you as you face this procedure with such worry on your heart. It is completely understandable to feel afraid when you are waiting for answers about your health and wondering what doctors will find. God sees that fear and He draws near to those who call on Him with a sincere and reverent heart.

Scripture teaches that the beginning of wisdom and knowledge is a reverent awe of the Lord. That kind of fear is not a phobia or a terror that drives you away, but a deep respect for who God is, His greatness and power and goodness, that draws you toward Him. It is learning to love what He loves and to turn from what He hates, and to put your confidence in Him. The Bible says He has great goodness stored up for those who live with that reverent trust in Him.

Fear and faith cannot occupy the same place at the same time. When fear rises, it is often because we have forgotten for a moment how close and how faithful the Lord is. Remembering Him is the cure for fear. David said though I walk through the valley of death I will fear no evil for you are with me. And again, the Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid. When you remember that He is with you, that He is your light and your strength, faith can quiet the fear even while you still walk through a hard valley.

You asked for healing, and the Bible reveals God as the Lord who heals. In the Gospels a large part of Jesus ministry was touching and healing those who were sick and afflicted, showing His tender compassion. He still heals today. Sometimes that healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual, and sometimes He works through the skill of doctors and the natural processes He Himself created in our bodies. All true healing comes from His hand, and we do not always understand why He heals in one way for one person and another way for another. What we do know is that He hears, He cares, and He becomes what we need when we bring our needs to Him.

I want to gently encourage you in how you approach Him in prayer. Scripture invites us to come directly to God the Father through Jesus Christ alone. There is one mediator between God and people, Jesus Himself, who died and rose again so we could have confidence to approach God. We do not need to come through Mary or angels or saints, but we come boldly through Jesus who lives to intercede for us. It is in His name that we pray and find mercy and help.

So I am bringing you before the Father in the name of Jesus. I am asking that He would give you His peace that passes understanding to guard your heart and mind, that He would guide the hands of the medical team, and that He would be merciful in what is found. I pray that you would sense His presence holding you, even in the procedure room, and that whatever the report may be, you would know His goodness and His nearness. May the Lord comfort you, take away the grip of fear, and fill you with a steady trust in His love and care for you.

You are not alone in this. The Lord is with you, and He hears your cry. Keep looking to Him and resting in His compassion.
