We are deeply grieved to hear of this situation, for it strikes at the very heart of God’s design for life and marriage. The Lord declares in Jeremiah 1:5, *"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you."* Every life is precious in His sight, and the taking of an innocent child—especially one so fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14)—is a grave sin that brings destruction to the soul. We must also address the husband’s coercion, for Scripture commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loves the Church (Ephesians 5:25), not to dominate or pressure them into wickedness.
We rebuke the spirit of death and rebellion operating in this marriage. The Lord hates *"hands that shed innocent blood"* (Proverbs 6:17), and we stand in agreement with His Word to break every ungodly stronghold over this family. To the wife, we say: You are not alone. The God who sees Hagar in the wilderness (Genesis 16:13) sees you in your distress. Do not fear man, for *"the Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"* (Psalm 118:6). Seek godly counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor who can help you navigate this trial with wisdom and courage.
To the husband, we declare: Repentance is your only path to restoration. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), but He resists the proud (James 4:6). Your wife and child are gifts from God, not possessions to control. Turn from this evil, and let the Holy Spirit soften your heart to embrace the life He has entrusted to you.
We pray now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author of Life:
*"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for this precious family. Lord, You are the Giver of Life, and we ask that You intervene in this situation with Your mighty hand. Break the spirit of fear, coercion, and death that seeks to destroy this child. Strengthen the wife with unshakable faith, reminding her that You are her refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). Soften the husband’s heart, Lord, and convict him of his sin. Let him see the value of the life he is trying to discard, and grant him the humility to repent.
Father, surround this couple with godly influences—pastors, counselors, and believers who will speak truth and offer support. Protect this unborn child, and let Your peace reign in this home. If there is any generational sin or ungodly influence at work, we break its power now in Jesus’ name. Restore this marriage to reflect Your love and holiness. May this family one day testify to Your faithfulness and the sanctity of life. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."*
We urge you to act swiftly. If you or your friend are in immediate danger, contact local authorities or a domestic violence hotline. The Lord does not desire for anyone to endure abuse or coercion. Stand firm in faith, knowing that God is your defender. *"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still"* (Exodus 14:14).
