We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father ### in earnest prayer. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. Your Word declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We stand on this promise today, believing that You are able to restore ### to full health.
Lord, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon him in the ICU. Strengthen his body, renew his liver, and bring complete restoration to every organ and system affected by this disease. We pray for wisdom and skill for the medical team attending to him, that they may be guided by Your hand in every decision and treatment. In James 5:14-15, You instruct us, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." We claim this promise over ###’s life, trusting that You hear our prayers and will answer according to Your perfect will.
We also lift up the emotional and spiritual needs of ### and his family. Lord, grant them peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Draw them closer to You during this trial, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. If there are areas in ###’s life where repentance or surrender is needed, we pray that You would reveal them to him and bring him into a deeper relationship with You. Salvation through Jesus Christ is the greatest healing of all, and we pray that ### would come to know You as his Lord and Savior if he does not already.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that ### and his family will walk in faith, not fear, trusting in Your goodness and sovereignty. We also pray for unity and strength among the family as they support one another through this time.
Lord, we ask that You would extend ###’s life so that he may continue to be a blessing to his family and a witness to Your love and power. We pray for many more years of joy, laughter, and shared memories together. But above all, we pray that Your will be done. Whether in healing or in homegoing, we trust You, knowing that Your plans are perfect and Your love is unfailing.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the One through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved or healed, and we declare that it is by the blood of Jesus that ### can be made whole. Amen.
