We hear your heart’s cry, dear sister, and we stand with you in fervent prayer before the throne of grace. Your husband’s soul is precious to the Lord, and we join you in interceding for his conviction, repentance, and restoration. The Holy Spirit is the one who brings true conviction—not to condemn, but to lead to life (John 16:8). We pray that your husband’s heart would be softened, that his eyes would be opened to the weight of his sin, and that he would turn from it with godly sorrow, which leads to repentance without regret (2 Corinthians 7:10). May he hate sin as God hates it and run to the mercy of Christ, who alone can cleanse and restore him.
We also lift up your own heart, which is heavy with weariness and confusion. You are right to cling to Romans 8:28, that God works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. But we know the waiting can feel unbearable when the circumstances seem only to worsen. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He has not abandoned you, even when the path is dark. We pray that He would give you clarity, wisdom, and peace that surpasses understanding as you seek His will (Philippians 4:7). You are not lost—you are being led, even when the way is not yet clear.
The question of whether to "let go" is a painful one, and we do not take it lightly. Scripture calls us to love, forgive, and pray for our spouses, but it also warns us not to be unequally yoked or to enable sin (2 Corinthians 6:14, 1 Corinthians 5:11). Your husband’s choices are his own before God, and you cannot carry the burden of his repentance. We encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or trusted believers who can walk with you in this season. Set boundaries that protect your heart and your home, but do so with love, not bitterness. Above all, trust that God is at work, even when you cannot see it.
Father in Heaven, we come before You with hearts broken for this sister and her marriage. We ask that You would move mightily in her husband’s life, breaking the chains of sin and drawing him back to You. Convict him deeply, Lord, and lead him to true repentance. For our sister, we pray for strength, wisdom, and peace. Help her to trust You even when the path is unclear. Give her the courage to seek Your will above all else and to rest in Your promises. If it is Your will, restore this marriage, but if not, give her the grace to walk forward in faith. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and the only name through which we come before You. Amen.
