We come before the Father with hearts full of compassion for your suffering, knowing that He is the Great Physician who hears the cries of His children. Shingles can bring not only physical pain but also weariness and discouragement, yet we stand firm on the promise that our God is able to heal and restore. The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* We claim this promise over you today, trusting that the Lord will bring healing and relief from the pain that has burdened you.
We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 8:16-17, *"When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: 'He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.'" Our Savior bore your pain and sickness on the cross, and by His stripes, you *are* healed (1 Peter 2:24). Though we do not always see immediate healing, we trust in God’s perfect timing and His sovereign will, knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28).
Yet, we must also encourage you to seek wisdom in this season. Have you consulted godly counsel or medical professionals who can provide care while you wait on the Lord? Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* Do not neglect the practical means God may use to bring relief, whether through medicine, rest, or the support of believers around you. At the same time, guard your heart against fear or despair, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Cast your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister before Your throne of grace, asking for Your healing touch to flow through their body. You are the God who sees their pain, who collects every tear in a bottle (Psalm 56:8), and who promises to be their strength in weakness. Lord Jesus, You bore every sickness and disease on the cross, and we ask that You would manifest Your healing power in their life now. Bring relief from the burning pain of shingles, restore their body to full health, and let this trial be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and pain in the mighty name of Jesus, commanding it to flee, for greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working even in this. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and surround them with Your presence. May they feel Your comfort and know that You are near.
We also ask for wisdom—for them to know how to care for their body, to seek the right help, and to trust You in the waiting. Let this season draw them closer to You, deepen their dependence on Your Word, and remind them that You are their healer, provider, and sustainer.
Father, we thank You in advance for the healing You are bringing. May Your name be glorified through this, and may our brother/sister rise up in strength to testify of Your goodness. We pray all this in the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm in faith, dear one. The Lord has not forgotten you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and let this trial be an opportunity to experience His nearness in a deeper way. We are praying with you and believing for your complete restoration. If the pain or discouragement becomes overwhelming, reach out to your church family or trusted believers who can pray over you and support you. You are not alone in this. The body of Christ is here to uphold you, just as Aaron and Hur held up Moses’ arms in battle (Exodus 17:12). Trust in the Lord, and He will renew your strength (Isaiah 40:31).
