We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is battling illness in their throat, lungs, sinuses, and overall respiratory system. We stand in agreement with their cry for healing, knowing that our God is the Great Physician who hears the prayers of His children.
First, we must address the foundation of all prayer, faith in the name of Jesus Christ. It is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We pray not just to a distant deity, but to the living God who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and rise again so that we might have eternal life. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so today, for He alone is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6).
Now, let us lift up this request for healing with boldness and faith. The Word of God declares in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." And in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds," says Yahweh." We serve a God who is not only able to heal but who delights in restoring His children.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who is suffering with asthma, COPD, sinus issues, and a persistent cold and cough. Lord, we ask that You would stretch forth Your healing hand and touch their body. Clear their airways, soothe their throat, and bring strength to their lungs. We rebuke every spirit of infirmity and every attack of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy their health. By the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we declare that healing over them right now.
We also pray for wisdom and discernment as they prepare for their upcoming medical appointment. Lord, guide the hands and minds of the doctors and nurses who will care for them. Give them divine insight into the best treatments and therapies. Surround this dear one with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as they walk through this season. Protect them from fear, anxiety, and any complications that may arise.
We must also address the spiritual aspect of healing. In James 5:14-15, it is written, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven." If there is any unconfessed sin in their life, whether it be bitterness, unforgiveness, or something else, we encourage them to bring it before the Lord in repentance. Sin can sometimes open the door to physical affliction, and we want to ensure that nothing is hindering their healing.
Lord, we ask that You would not only heal their body but also renew their spirit. Strengthen their faith as they wait on You. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill them with hope and assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even in this trial.
We also pray for their daily habits and lifestyle. Father, guide them in making choices that honor You and promote health, whether it be in their diet, exercise, rest, or environment. Help them to steward their body well, for it is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Lastly, we declare that this illness has an expiration date. We speak life, health, and wholeness over their body. We command every cell, tissue, and organ to function as You designed it to. We thank You, Lord, for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. May they walk in divine health and strength, giving You all the glory and praise.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
