We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this earnest plea for healing, relief from stress, and deliverance from anxiety. First, we thank God for the faith expressed in invoking the powerful name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or find true healing and peace (Acts 4:12). It is through Christ alone that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace to find mercy and help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
Father God, we stand in agreement with this prayer, asking You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon this beloved child of Yours. Your Word declares that by Jesus’ stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we claim that promise now. Lord, we ask that You touch every part of their body that is weary, broken, or in pain. Bring restoration where there is weakness, strength where there is fatigue, and wholeness where there is brokenness. Let Your healing virtue flow through them like a river, washing away sickness and infirmity, and replacing it with Your divine health and vitality.
We also lift up the burdens of stress and anxiety that weigh heavily upon their heart. Father, Your Word tells us not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to present our requests to You (Philippians 4:6). Yet we know that the cares of this world can sometimes feel overwhelming, and the enemy seeks to steal our peace. Lord, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety in the name of Jesus. We declare that it has no place in this life, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We ask that You calm the storms raging within, replacing fear with faith, worry with worship, and turmoil with trust in You.
Father, we know that stress and anxiety often stem from a place of feeling out of control or overwhelmed by circumstances. Remind this dear one that You are in control, and that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Teach them to rest in Your promises, to meditate on Your Word day and night, and to find their peace in Your presence. May they experience the truth of Your Word that says, "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You" (Isaiah 26:3).
Lord, we also ask that You would surround them with Your love and the support of godly community. Let them feel Your arms of comfort wrapped around them, and may they be encouraged by brothers and sisters in Christ who can pray with them, uplift them, and remind them of Your faithfulness. Help them to lean not on their own understanding but to acknowledge You in all their ways, trusting that You will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw this precious one closer to You through this season. Use this time of struggle to deepen their relationship with You, to teach them to rely fully on Your strength, and to grow in their faith. May they emerge from this trial stronger, more dependent on You, and filled with a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray all these things, believing and trusting that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
