Healing, stress, anxiety

We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts heavy for our brother or sister who is seeking Your healing touch, relief from stress, and deliverance from anxiety. We lift them up to You, knowing that You are the Great Physician, the Prince of Peace, and our ever-present help in times of trouble.

Father, Your Word tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We claim this promise over our dear one, asking for Your healing power to flow through their body, restoring every cell, every organ, and every system to full health. You are the God who knit them together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know their body even better than they do. We ask for Your divine intervention, trusting that by Your stripes, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5).

Lord, we also bring before You the burdens of stress and anxiety that weigh heavily on their heart. Your Word commands us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing, be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that You would replace their anxiety with Your perfect peace, which transcends all human understanding. Calm their mind, soothe their spirit, and remind them that You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7).

Father, we know that stress and anxiety often stem from trying to carry burdens that are too heavy for us. We ask that You would help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Teach them to lean not on their own understanding but to trust in You with all their heart (Proverbs 3:5-6). Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We also rebuke any spirit of fear, worry, or despair that may be attempting to take root in their life. We stand on Your Word in James 4:7, which tells us to "submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." We command every lying spirit that seeks to steal their peace to flee in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).

Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your love and presence. Fill them with the assurance that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2), and to walk in the confidence that comes from knowing You.

We also encourage our dear one to draw near to You through prayer, reading Your Word, and fellowship with other believers. Your Word is a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105), and it is in Your presence that they will find fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11). May they find comfort in the community of faith, where they can bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).

Lastly, we pray that they would grow in their relationship with You, deepening their trust and faith. May they experience the truth of Your promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Help them to rest in Your goodness and to wait patiently for Your perfect timing.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray all these things, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
