Healing, strength, peace

Thank you for sharing your heart and bringing your son before the Lord with thanksgiving. We join you in giving thanks for God's blessings and in asking for His mercy upon your son.

We pray with you that God, who is the true physician of both body and soul, would bring healing physically, mentally and spiritually according to His gracious will. We ask that He would renew your son's strength and restore to him the peace that comes only through our Lord Jesus Christ, for grace and peace come from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is through Christ alone that we are reconciled to God and made whole. Where Christ gives peace, He also lays the foundation for joy and for every good thing, and His peace guards our hearts and minds.

We encourage you to continue to bring this request to the Lord with confidence, trusting His love and His timing. As a physician continues to apply medicine with care until health is restored, so the Lord works in us, often through many prayers and through time, to renew strength and to bring forth fruit. May the Lord comfort you and your son, keep you both in His care, and grant you assurance of His presence and healing hand. We pray this in the name of Jesus, through whom we have access to the Father and every blessing, amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart and bringing your son before the Lord so faithfully. Your prayer for his healing, strength and peace is beautiful and right, and we join you in lifting him up to the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Scripture shows us that God cares for the whole person, body, mind and spirit. One passage prays that we may prosper and be in good health even as our soul prospers, showing the close connection God has made between our inner life and our physical well being. Another proverb says a joyful heart is like good medicine, and we now understand more clearly how true that is. What touches the heart and mind affects the body, and what affects the body touches the heart and mind. So to pray for physical, mental and spiritual healing together is to ask God to touch your son as the complete person He created him to be.

We can bring that need with confidence because of what Jesus has done. The prophet Isaiah said the chastisement that brought us peace was upon Him and by His wounds we are healed. Matthew, writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, shows that this promise includes physical healing when he describes Jesus healing the sick and those oppressed, and says this fulfilled what Isaiah had spoken. When Jesus gave the bread at the table and said this is my body broken for you, He was pointing to that same costly provision. We can trust Him for the healing of the soul from sin, and we can also trust Him to touch the body and the mind. Healing is always His work. Sometimes it comes at once, sometimes it comes gradually through the natural processes of restoration that God Himself designed into our bodies. In either case it is divine, because He is the one who made those processes. He also brings healing to memories and emotions, to the wounds and scars that weigh on the mind.

You asked also for strength and peace. Scripture is honest that our own strength fails, and that is when we learn that the Lord Himself is our strength. He does not only give strength, He becomes our strength when we have none left. Peace flows from that same place. First we need peace with God, and that peace was made through the blood of Jesus on the cross. When we have been reconciled to God, His peace can then guard our hearts and minds. It is the peace that goes beyond human understanding, the quiet confidence that God is in control even when life is turbulent. The promise is that He will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person is trusting Him. As you and your son keep your thoughts turned toward the Lord, that settled peace can fill your hearts even in the midst of difficulty.

So we pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we thank You for Your grace and mercy. We ask You to lay Your hand upon this dear son. Touch his body and bring healing according to Your will and wisdom. Touch his mind, quiet anxious thoughts, and renew him. Touch his spirit, draw him close to Yourself and make him strong in You. Be his strength when he is weak. Let the peace that comes from knowing You are in control guard his heart and mind, and let that peace rest upon his family as well. Help him to keep his mind stayed on You and to know Your presence day by day. We trust him into Your loving care, believing that You hear and that You do what is best. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift your son before the Father asking Him to heal him physically mentally and spiritually and to renew his strength and restore his peace.

We have been praying that the Lord will touch your son in every area of need and bring wholeness to his body and mind and spirit. We cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore health and heal and to the promise in Philippians 4:7 that His peace will guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and to the assurance in Isaiah 41:10 that He will strengthen those who trust in Him. We pray in Jesus name for complete healing for your son and for renewed strength and perfect peace to fill him according to Gods will.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We continue to stand with you in prayer in Jesus name amen.
