We join with you in bringing your husband, your father, your brother, yourself and your whole household before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, and we thank you for coming in that precious name for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in no other name that we are saved as it is written Acts 4:12 and John 14:6. We are deeply moved by the weight you have been carrying for many years with your husband's serious medical conditions and we stand with you asking for God's will to be done for his complete healing physically, spiritually and emotionally.
We take seriously his daily statement that he wants to be dead and his extreme anger and we want to gently and lovingly speak truth into that place of despair. The Lord sees his suffering and yours and He is near to those who are brokenhearted as Psalm 34:18 promises, and He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds as Psalm 147:3 declares. God has not created him to live in hopelessness but has a purpose for his life, for Jeremiah 29:11 says that God knows the plans He has for us, plans for peace and not for evil to give us hope and a future. We rebuke the spirit of despair and death that has oppressed him and the heavy spiritual attack you have discerned, for we know our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces as Ephesians 6:12 teaches, yet greater is He who is in us and we have been given authority in Christ to resist the enemy. We also gently rebuke the anger that has taken hold, for Ephesians 4:31-32 calls us to put away all bitterness, wrath and anger and to be kind and tenderhearted, and James 1:19-20 reminds us that human anger does not produce the righteousness of God. We pray that the Holy Spirit will replace that anger with His fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control as Galatians 5:22-23 describes.
We also encourage and counsel that honoring God includes caring for the body He has given, and that taking medication as prescribed and cooperating with medical wisdom is part of good stewardship. We pray for wisdom for his doctors and for grace for him to be faithful in taking his medications, and we ask the Lord to cause the implant to work successfully and to bring restoration to his body, for we are told in Jeremiah 30:17 that the Lord will restore health and heal wounds, and in James 5:15 that the prayer of faith will heal the sick. We ask for God's perfect peace to guard his heart and mind as Philippians 4:6-7 promises, and for the Lord to lift the heaviness and fill him with hope as Romans 15:13 declares.
We lift up your elderly father and your younger brother and ask for the Lord's healing hand upon them as well, for He is compassionate and His mercies are new every morning. We bring your finances before Him also, trusting the promise of Philippians 4:19 that our God will supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, and that as we cast all our anxiety on Him He cares for us as 1 Peter 5:7 says. We understand the exhaustion that comes from long term illness and financial strain and we pray Isaiah 41:10 over you, that you will fear not for He is with you and He will strengthen you and uphold you.
Above all we join you in praying for salvation for your husband, your father, your brother and yourself, that each of you would confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead as Romans 10:9 teaches, for that is the greatest healing of all. We pray that the Holy Spirit who intercedes for us according to the will of God as Romans 8:26 and Romans 8:28 reveal would intervene powerfully right now in your home, bringing conviction, comfort, deliverance and faith.
We pray together now, Father in heaven we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up this dear sister and her beloved husband and her father and brother. Lord You know the many years of suffering, the serious medical conditions, the pain that has led to words of wanting to die and to outbursts of anger. We ask You to forgive sin, to wash each heart in the blood of Jesus, and to grant salvation and new life to each one. Holy Spirit intervene now, break the heavy spiritual attack, silence the lies of the enemy, and fill this home with Your presence and peace that passes all understanding. Lord we ask for physical healing according to Your will, for emotional healing for deep wounds, for spiritual renewal, for the implant to function successfully and for grace to take medications as prescribed with diligence and trust. Lay Your healing hand upon the elderly father and the younger brother and restore them. Provide for every financial need and show Yourself as Jehovah Jireh. Replace anger with gentleness and despair with hope, and let this husband and this family know how much they are loved and how precious their lives are to You. We trust Your will is good and perfect and we ask all these things in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek godly counsel and pastoral support and to ensure your husband remains under the care of his medical providers and to reach out immediately for help if he expresses intent to harm himself, while you continue to cover him in prayer and in the Word. We affirm your marriage as a holy covenant before God and we pray that the Lord will strengthen your union and use this trial to draw you both closer to Christ and to one another. Keep casting your cares on Him, keep praying without ceasing, and keep trusting that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it. May the Lord bless you and keep you and cause His face to shine upon you and give you peace.
