Your prayer for your son is heard, and your love for him reflects the heart of our Father who sees and hears His children in their affliction.
God sees the struggle, just as He saw Leah in her sorrow and heard her cry, and He is the One who takes away reproach and brings new hope. He knows the panic that overtakes the body, the heavy shadows left by past trauma, and the restlessness of nights filled with fear. Scripture tells us to bind His word upon our hearts, and promises that when we go it will lead us, when we sleep it will keep us, and when we awake it will speak with us. That is the peace He wants to give your son, to quiet his mind, to calm his body, and to guard his sleep so he can rest without nightmares and wake in peace.
We can trust Jesus for healing of the body as well as the soul. Once He spoke a word and a nobleman's son was healed at a distance of many miles, showing that His power is not limited by nearness. Another time He healed a man born blind, and when that man was cast out and alone, Jesus sought him out and revealed Himself, asking, Do you believe on the Son of God, and saying, It is He who is talking with you. Jesus is not a created being, He is the only begotten Son of God, declared to be the Son of God with power by His resurrection, and the Scripture says he who has the Son has life. The only way we are accepted by God is in His Son, and the invitation is open to all to come and drink of the water of life freely. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. That love was foreshadowed long ago when Abraham was told to take his son, his only son whom he loved, and offer him, pointing to the Father who would not withhold His own Son for us.
The Father's heart toward a struggling child is also seen in the story of the son who took his inheritance and wasted it in a far country, then came home broken and saying he was no longer worthy to be called a son. While he was still in his filth, his father ran to him, embraced him and covered him with kisses before any cleaning, and restored him fully as a son, putting sandals on his feet and calling for rejoicing because his son who was dead was alive again. God is not waiting to scold, He is waiting to restore, to lift the weight of the past and to confirm that place as His child.
God is not a man that He should lie, and what He has spoken He will make good. His word cannot be broken and He will honor it above all. So we bring your son before Him now.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son we ask for Your mercy and grace upon this son. Touch him physically, mentally and spiritually. Quiet his mind when panic rises and calm his body. Lift the heavy shadows of past trauma, take away fear, and grant him deep, peaceful sleep free from nightmares, that he may wake in peace. Bring comfort, healing and breakthrough in every area of his life. Draw him to believe and rest in Your only begotten Son, that having the Son he may have life, and that Your word would keep him night and day. We trust Your love and Your power to restore. Amen.
