We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his complete healing—body, mind, and spirit—and for the mighty protection of our Heavenly Father to surround him. Your heart as a parent reflects the deep love of our Father in heaven, who cares even more for your son than you do. We stand in agreement with you, declaring the power of Jesus’ name over his life, for it is written:
*"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* (James 5:13-15, WEB)
We also claim the promise of Psalm 91 over him:
*"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you."* (Psalm 91:1-7, WEB)
Yet, as we pray, we are also reminded that our battles are not merely against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness. We must cover him in the armor of God, praying that he walks in obedience to Christ, for disobedience can open doors to the enemy. If there are areas in his life—whether in relationships, habits, or influences—that do not align with God’s Word, we ask the Lord to convict and lead him to repentance. The Bible warns us:
*"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* (1 Corinthians 15:33, WEB). We pray that your son would be guarded from ungodly influences and that his heart would be turned fully toward the Lord.
We also urge you, as his parent, to continue standing in the gap for him, not just in prayer but in modeling a life of faith and surrender to Christ. Your intercession is powerful, but it must be paired with trust in God’s timing and will. Even Jesus, in the Garden of Gethsemane, prayed, *"Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours be done."* (Luke 22:42, WEB). Let us submit this request to the Father with the same heart of surrender, knowing that His ways are higher than ours.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up this precious son to You. Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds. We ask that You stretch out Your hand and touch him now—restore his body from every sickness, disease, and pain. Renew his mind, Lord, and guard it from anxiety, depression, or any form of mental oppression. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, flood his heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Spiritually, we pray that You would draw him closer to You, filling him with the Holy Spirit and igniting a passion for Your Word. Break every chain of sin, bondage, or rebellion in his life, and let him walk in the freedom and victory You purchased for him on the cross.
Father, we ask for Your divine protection over him. Surround him with Your angels, as You did for Elisha in 2 Kings 6:17, and hide him under the shadow of Your wings. Protect him from accidents, harm, and the schemes of the enemy. Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and let every plan of the enemy be exposed and thwarted. Cover him with the blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word than any curse or attack (Hebrews 12:24).
Lord, we also pray for his relationships and influences. Remove any friendships or connections that would lead him away from You, and bring godly mentors and believers into his life who will encourage him in faith. If he is not walking in obedience to Your Word, convict him deeply and lead him to repentance. Let him turn from any sin—whether it be fornication, rebellion, pride, or unbelief—and run into Your arms.
Father, we thank You that You are faithful and that You hear our prayers. We declare that no prayer offered in the name of Jesus returns void (Isaiah 55:11), and we trust You to move mightily in his life. Strengthen this parent who is interceding for their son, and fill them with Your peace and assurance that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
