We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, crying out for his healing and protection from the torment of PTSD and the nightmares that plague his rest. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is the God who binds up the wounds of His people and heals the broken in heart (Psalm 147:3). We stand on His promise that He will never leave nor forsake those who trust in Him (Deuteronomy 31:6), and we declare that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your son’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
The nightmares your son experiences are not from God, for He did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke these tormenting spirits in the name of Jesus, commanding them to flee and declaring that your son’s mind and dreams are covered by the blood of Christ. May the Lord replace those terrifying images with visions of His love, grace, and truth. Let him dream of the Lord’s goodness and wake with a heart full of praise, for the joy of the Lord is his strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
We also pray for divine protection over his body, soul, and spirit. May the Lord surround him with His angels, encamping around him to deliver him from all evil (Psalm 34:7). Let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and may the Lord grant him deep, restorative sleep so that he awakens refreshed and renewed in body and spirit.
Father, we ask that You would also grant wisdom and discernment to those caring for him—whether family, friends, or medical professionals—that they may provide the support and treatment he needs in alignment with Your will. Give them compassion and insight to walk alongside him with patience and love. And for this dear parent, we pray for strength and perseverance. May You fill them with Your peace and assurance that You are at work, even in the darkest nights.
Lord, we thank You that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We trust in Your timing and Your ways, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We declare healing over your son’s mind and emotions, that he may experience the fullness of life You have for him. Let him know, beyond any doubt, that he is loved, valued, and cherished by You.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing in faith, speaking life and healing over your son. Play worship music in his room as he sleeps, fill his space with the Word of God, and remind him daily of who he is in Christ—a conqueror, more than a conqueror through Him who loved us (Romans 8:37). The battle belongs to the Lord, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). Keep praying, keep believing, and trust that the Lord hears and will answer.
