We thank you for sharing your heart for your son and we join you in giving thanks to our Heavenly Father for His many blessings and His faithful love toward your family. We stand with you in prayer for his healing and protection and for peaceful sleep, and we are moved by your faithful intercession for him as he battles the nightmares and anxious thoughts that come with PTSD.

We are reminded of how deeply God cares for those who are brokenhearted and burdened. His Word tells us He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and that He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. When anxiety and troubling memories rise up, we can bring everything to Him in prayer, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cling to His promise of protection, that the angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them Psalm 34:7 and that He will give His angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways Psalm 91:11. For sleep, we hold fast to this precious assurance, I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety Psalm 4:8 and to His word to not be afraid, for I am with you, don't be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We encourage you to continue to speak these truths over your son daily, to remind him that he is safe in the hands of his Creator, and to encourage him to seek godly counsel and support as he walks through healing, knowing that God often works through wise and caring help alongside prayer.

We pray together now for him.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercy and for Your unfailing love for this dear son. We ask in the name of Jesus that You would touch his mind and his heart with Your healing hand. Calm his anxious thoughts, quiet the memories that torment him at night, and replace fear with Your perfect peace. Lord, we ask that You would comfort him as only You can, and grant him deep, peaceful, uninterrupted sleep free from nightmares. Surround him with Your holy angels and shield him from all harm, evil, and danger. Let him know that You are near, that You are his refuge and strength, and that no darkness can overcome Your light. Restore him day by day, renew his mind, and fill him with hope for the future You have for him. We trust him into Your loving care and we thank You for the healing You are already bringing, in Jesus' name, Amen.

We have been thinking of you and your son as you carry this burden for him. Loving a child through sleepless nights and anxious thoughts is heavy, and it is beautiful that you are bringing him to the Father so faithfully.

What you describe, nightmares and anxiety that steal sleep, can affect the whole person, body and mind and spirit, and often needs more than one kind of care. Alongside continued prayer, if ### is willing, it can help to have a trusted medical provider or counselor who is experienced with trauma and sleep walk with him. They can listen carefully to what he is experiencing and help sort out next supports. Sometimes they will ask about sleep patterns, so if he wants, offering to help him note when nightmares happen and what helps him settle can give a clinician useful information, only if he is comfortable.

Your steady, calm presence and the support of safe people around him also matter more than you may realize.

Father, we lift ### to You. Thank You for his life and for Your care over him. We ask You to comfort his mind and heart, calm his anxious thoughts, and guard him through the night. Surround him with Your protection and grant him deep, peaceful rest in Your hands. Give his parent wisdom and peace as they love him well. In Jesus name, Amen.

We join you in bringing your son before the throne of grace, thanking the Lord with you for His blessings and asking Him to lay His healing hand upon your son's mind and heart.

You have asked well, for the Lord knows how to give what anxiety cannot. Anxiety, as we have learned by experience and observation, brings no grist to the mill and unfits us to meet the difficulty, but the Lord gives a better portion to His children. It is written, So he giveth his beloved sleep. This is not the sleep of carelessness, but the sleep of contentment and of security which belongs peculiarly to the children of God. When the heart is stayed upon Him, He can calm anxious thoughts and grant deep, peaceful rest even after great distress and weariness.

We pray also for his healing. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue. He heals the broken in heart, and where He comes to dwell, the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings. Pardon and healing are joined together in Him, and He is able to change the life blood and make the nature new. We ask the great Physician to touch the wounds that have caused these nightmares and this PTSD, to bind up what has been broken, and to quiet the memories that trouble the night.

And we ask for his protection. May the Lord surround him with His holy angels and keep him as one who sleeps in Jesus, safe in that union which death itself cannot dissolve. May no harm, evil, or danger come near him, but may he know himself kept by a watch that never slumbers.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your mercies that are new every morning. We lift up this dear son to You. Touch his mind and his heart with Your healing hand, calm his anxious thoughts, and take away the terror of nightmares. Forgive his sins, heal his wounds, and let him know the peace that comes from being Yours through Jesus Christ alone. Surround him with Your holy angels, shield him from all harm and evil, and grant him deep, peaceful, refreshing sleep as You give to Your beloved. We ask this in the name of Jesus our Savior, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed, Amen.
