Silas
Beloved of All
We are joining you in prayer for your son and thank you for bringing this need before the Lord so honestly.
God sees affliction and hears the cry of a parent's heart. Like the Scriptures show, when there was sorrow and a longing for love and wholeness, the Lord looked upon that affliction and listened. He knows your son by name, He knows his struggle physically, mentally and spiritually, and He draws near to comfort with His presence and peace.
We pray for the healing touch of Jesus Christ upon your son. The Gospels show that Jesus healed at a distance with just a word, as when He spoke and the nobleman's son was made well many miles away, and that He opened the eyes of the man born blind. His power is not limited by distance or by the depth of the need. We believe we can trust Jesus for physical healing as well as spiritual healing, and we ask Him to bring clarity and calm to your son's mind. Scripture says God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind, and we pray that your son would know that soundness, that the confusion and torment of psychosis would lift, and that the Lord would guard him from all harm and evil.
We also pray for peaceful sleep. The wisdom of Scripture teaches that when we hold fast to the Lord and His word, it watches over us when we sleep and speaks to us when we awake. May the Lord grant your son quiet, unbroken rest and keep him through the night, surrounding him with protection that no evil can break through.
Above all we pray that your son would know the love of the Father who receives with joy. As the father in the story of the prodigal son ran to his child while he was still far off and embraced him and restored him as a son, so our heavenly Father longs to draw near, forgive, cleanse and restore. That way is only through His Son. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, not a created being, and the only way God can receive us is in Him. He who has the Son has life. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
We stand on the promise that God is not a man that He should lie, and what He has spoken He will make good. His word cannot be broken and He honors it. We ask that your son would put his faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and wholeness, and that you both would experience the assurance that comes from knowing Him.
Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this son to You. Touch him in body, mind and spirit, grant him a sound mind and peaceful sleep, cast out all that oppresses him, protect him from harm and evil, and fill him with Your comfort and peace. Amen.
