Healing, protection, sleep

Windwold

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, I pray for healing and protection for my son ###, please comfort him and help him sleep without the nightmares from PTSD. Surround him with Your holy angels and shield him from all harm, evil, and danger. Fill his dreams with Your love and light, in Jesus' name, Amen

We lift up this precious son to You, Heavenly Father, with heavy hearts for the battles he faces, especially in the quiet of the night. The scars of PTSD are deep, and the enemy seeks to steal his peace, his rest, and his hope. But we declare that You are the God who heals, the God who protects, and the God who gives sweet sleep to those who trust in You. Your Word promises in Psalm 121:3-4, "He will not allow your foot to be moved. He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep." We stand on this truth, believing that You are watching over him, even now, and that Your angels are encamped around him as Psalm 34:7 declares, "The angel of Yahweh encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them."

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and torment that seeks to haunt his dreams. We command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus, for 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that You would break the chains of those nightmares and replace them with visions of Your goodness, Your strength, and Your love. Fill his mind with Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things." Let his thoughts be guarded by Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, as he lays his head down to rest.

We also pray for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing for this dear son. You are the Great Physician, and Your Word says in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds." We ask that You touch every part of him that is broken, weary, or in pain. Bring restoration to his body, mind, and soul. Surround him with godly men who can walk alongside him, speak life into him, and remind him of Your truth. Let him know that he is not alone, that his struggles are seen, and that his victory is found in You.

Father, we ask that You would draw him closer to You during this time. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Jesus, we pray that You would soften his heart and reveal Your love to him in a powerful way. Your Word says in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Let this be the day of his salvation if he does not yet know You. If he does, we pray that You would deepen his faith and remind him of the hope he has in Christ.

We also lift up his parents and loved ones who carry this burden with him. Give them wisdom, patience, and strength as they support him. Remind them that their prayers are powerful and that You are working even when they cannot see it. Let them rest in Your promises and trust in Your timing.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the authority we have in the name of Jesus to stand against the schemes of the enemy. We declare that no weapon formed against this son shall prosper, for Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me." We cover him in the blood of Jesus and ask that You would be his refuge and fortress, as Psalm 91:2 declares, "I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"

We pray all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, the name above every name, the name by which every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord. We trust You, Father, to move mightily in this situation and to bring healing, protection, and peace that only You can provide. Amen.

We ache with you as you watch your son wrestle through the night, it’s a raw, helpless place for a parent to stand. PTSD can turn the very rest he needs into a battlefield, and we know that the haunting memories don’t just vanish with daylight. Thank you for letting us carry this burden with you in prayer.

Something that has helped many people in that quiet, anxious space before sleep is to anchor the mind with gentle, familiar Christian music, hymns or worship songs that speak peace instead of needing to find the words themselves. It’s not a quick fix, but even a soft playlist in the background can give a frightened mind a safer path toward rest. If he’s open to it, this might be a small, non-pushy gift you can offer him.

We also want to gently encourage you to make sure he has someone with professional trauma training walking alongside him. PTSD is a heavy load, and a counselor who specializes in it can help him untangle the memories and regain a sense of safety. There’s no shame in that, it’s a wise and courageous step. And alongside that, the steady, patient presence of people who love him (including you) is a quiet antidote that nothing else can imitate. The trust he can rebuild even with one safe person may slowly let the world feel less dangerous.

Father, we come to You for this son. Quiet his spirit tonight; stand guard over his mind and let Your peace push back the nightmares. Surround him with Your presence, he may not feel it, but let it be real and thick around him. Give him deep, unbroken sleep, and over time bring full healing to the wounds that stole it. Hold his mother close too; reassure her heart as she waits and prays. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Romans 5:1 "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

3 Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us.

6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Therefore, since we have now been justified by His blood, how much more shall we be saved from wrath through Him! 10 For if, when we were enemies of God, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! 11Not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Sleep is a gift most precious, a medicine to weary bones and troubled minds. The Lord giveth His beloved sleep, and this sleep is a covenant blessing, a peculiar treasure bestowed upon the children of God. When the nightmares of war and sorrow assail your son, remember that the Great Physician knows how to bind up the broken heart and calm the tempest of the soul. He who commanded the winds and waves says still, "Peace, be still."

The power of Christ in the Gospel is mainly a power to heal. The same hands that touched the leper and raised the paralytic are stretched forth to touch your son's brow. Though the wounds be invisible, they are known to Him; He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. Pray not only for the ceasing of terrors but for the sweet indwelling of Christ's peace, for He is our rest. The presence of the Savior in the vessel of the soul secures a calm, even when the outward storm rages.

Yet take heed that this trial drive him not from the Lord, but nearer to Him. The disciples slept for sorrow in the garden, and our Lord's gentle chiding was mingled with compassion, for He knows our frame. Still, let your son watch and pray lest he fall into despair. Cast all his care upon the Lord, for He careth for him. The ministering angels are indeed about his bed, and the same love that gave the beloved disciple a place upon the Savior's bosom shall cover him with feathers under the Almighty's wings. Plead the blood of Jesus over his mind, and look for the day when the leaves of the Tree of Life shall heal all his sorrows forever.
